Takeover Rumours

They're quite obviously doing everything they can to cause arguments, alert the Mods and have the thread pulled ...

... beyond belief how sad some people are.

I've no idea why they do it but they're absolutely relentlessly miserable despite their inevitable smilies.

Probably the best thing that's ever happened to the club bar the FA cup win in 73 and still get people moaning...

Only on the SMB... at least they are the minority in our fan base and hide online.

As a relatively new poster it appears to me that the pattern is as follows;

A new thread is posted.

Sunderland supporters post varying opinions in response but are generally civil and positive towards safc.

Thinly disguised mags post negativity and insults.

Thread gets locked.

How the moderators cannot see the same is beyond me...

You're right, I and countless others would be surprised, because it is you.

You've managed to derail a takeover thread, rich in positivity and some welcome inside information, with your usual, boring, negative drivel.

This is potentially the best thing to happen to SAFC in our lifetimes, give it a rest.

Thanks by the way to @Reiver for the info.
What is this info?

Missed about 100 pages.

EFL saynig there's no U-turn. At that point why bother guaranteeing that kind of money? They will be liquidated.
I guess EFL will come under extreme pressure to do a U turn as long as checks carried out stack up. Staying in Div 1 is crucial to the club and potential new owners, not to mention the fans, imagine it was us!

It’s a bit shit when you are getting to the point you can’t even be arsed with what should be a light hearted and positive thread mind.
I used to Post on here years ago, I got sick of some of the posters so I stopped using the board, came back to have a nose and see if there was any gossip about the takeover....and wham...the same posters ruining the party 🤣 nowts changed.

I understand people being cautious, but some of the doom on here is staggering. I'm choosing to believe it - if it doesn't come off I'll be disappointed, but after decades of watching Sunderland, I'm good at coping with that. If you can't let yourself get just a bit excited about this, there's something not right.

I wonder how the miserable fuckers will react when the official announcement is made.
Will they find it in themselves to be positive?
Nah. Unless owners say they will spend every penny they have i but fear they will still demand them to take out a wonga loan.

Wait till the thread after takeover announced......groundhog day.
Wait till we actually are back in the Premier, they will be clamouring for whoever is the manager to be sacked because they have "took us as far as they can" because we aren't winning the league by Xmas. They will find something to pick fault with, they live for it. 😂

My worry with a few to be honest ;)

So now we're back to the actual thread subject, 'Our impending world domination', I'll just summarise what I know as facts.
(Sorry if this sounds preposterous but it's all true as various posters would confirm.)

  • The buyer's accountants, massive firm I can't name, has taken the books apart and OK'd them - confirmed by my millionaire Italian friend who uses them
  • The deal has been totally agreed with all parties
  • The EFL is the last part of the jigsaw but it's being described to me as a formality - "Can you provide proof you have more money than Stewart Donald?"
  • A fella from a well known beer producing family has told me his mate, one of the 4 buyers, has described himself as 'Sunderland's new owner'
  • I'm seeing him on Sunday when he's promised to give me the whole story
  • Sadly/happily I think it may well be announced before then so I won't be able to 'get in first'
  • It's been described, to me, as a long term legacy project involving as many bodies as possible - no Mafia puns intended

This what have we got to lose? At present we hardly have any money. If the worst happened and the proposed takeover failed (which I cannot see it not happening) we'd just be as we are now.
