I take my hat off to you Riv, you nailed your colours to the mast early doors against a lot of negativity. I have watched the discussion from the periphery wanting to believe totally but Sunderland being Sunderland there was always that shadow of doubt. That shadow has all but dispersed, the more I read from you and others to a lesser extent a few others the more I believe you are right.i raise my glass to you Riv and thank you for your info

Has there been lots of negativity? Genuine question as it's impossible to keep up with the thread.

Obviously the potential owners were there on Saturday and it seems common knowledge they're close to taking over, and a few more 'itk' folk have confirmed this. Is there anything else to report?

But you said nothing had been announced so people were getting ahead of themselves ...
... what a raging hypocrite.
Nothing has been announced unless I’ve missed the grand unveiling.

I’m sure there are plenty businesses in talks that don’t end up materialising. Just have a look at Bolton and Bury for proof of that.

I really hope the media give this the attention that it deserves. If this was them up the road, a London club or pretty much anyone else for that matter, Sky would already be tossing themselves off over it. So far, this story has made the regionals and had very minor coverage in a few financial publications. I want entire back pages and to see Thewlis look visibly sick as fuck as she delivers the news.
Fuck that, Flying under the radar for as long as possible is the best way to avoid being shot down.

I went to a Phila Union friendly some years ago vs Aston Villa. There was about 10,000 people out in the parking lot tailgating and you could see the English Villa fans saying to themselves “wtf is this?”

I don’t know if England fans would go for it... you all seem very into your own thing and against any kind of Americanisms...I still can’t believe you don’t tailgate?!?! We tailgate for everything...concerts, baseball, highschool games, whatever!

I would think if the Stadium of Light had a facility like XFINITY LIVE next to it, where all the match goers would go before the game for food and drinks, I don’t see how that wouldn’t be a money maker! Just google Xfinity live images to get a peek at what I mean.
Don't you need a designated driver for tailgating? Sounds shite.

So what makes you state that something is clearly happening?

It is absolutely more positive than it looked during a desperate pre season and opening game but people just seem to be getting so far all ahead of themselves.
There’s obviously something afoot but I just can’t get too carried away until it’s signed, sealed and delivered

But once it is 'signed, sealed and delivered' you'll just shift the goalposts and be negative about something else?

Given our area and the way the SOL is designed and land around the stadium we need competitive pricing and we can extend cheapily and easily. With an increased SOL we make more money on merchandice and catering and people seeing a packed 60,000+ stadium, advertising etc.

We are probably uniquely placed in the country to do this (the mags would love to but are land locked as example) and Im sure its in the new investors thinking.

Lebensraum marra.
