I am not derailing anything. Its the people who live outside of Sunderland who seem to think everything is hunky dory in Sunderland, when in reality they know very little. You then angage them and it leads to this when the truth is too much for them

In fairness, whenever I return I’m pleasantly surprised. When I moved away 35 years ago Sunderland was a bit of a tip, but even then I considered it my tip.

I joined the RAF in 78 and will always tell people I'm from Sunderland it's my town and will always be my town. When I come home seeing penshaw monument I know I'm home. It's my first my last my everything.

Same. I joined the army in 84. Haven’t lived in Sunderland since and I currently live on the other side of the world. But if you ask me where I’m from the answer is always Sunderland.
