Technically they can block the transaction but I doubt the new owners will have any difficulty showing themselves as ‘fit and proper’ to meet the regulations. Bear in mind Dale passed! And Ashley!! Having said that I’m trying not to get too carried away until the ink is finally dry and we know the deal is done ... bloody hard though ;)
I know. It's literally an epoch moment for the club. Nobody ever saw this coming except for SD and CM. Heroes. Absolute heroes for the club in last 18 months. Saved us no doubt in my mind.

I literally can't understand the actual value of that amount of money. I mean in cash it would fill a shipping container or something. You couldn't even spend it. It's completely out of my depth.

Thanks Hank. I doubt these are the same league as the Bury owner... But if it needs done fair enough.
I read something the other day that said if Jeff Bezos (Amazon Gadgie) spent £1million a day, it would take 440 years to get through his wealth.

They'll invest in tonnes of stuff, each one will add a little extra to their wealth. The saying look after the pennies and pounds take care of themselves is very pertinent but probably just worded slightly differently for them as it'll be look after the millions and the billions take care of themselves. If they feel spending 100 million or whatever can have them something worth 200 million in just a few short years they'll pounce on it.

I left today with about a minute or two of stoppage time left as I'm on nights and needed to get home to Seaton Carew quickly. I couldn't believe how many were already outside crossing the bridge on Millennium Way and walking down Hay St. It was almost as busy as it gets shortly after full-time. I knew we had a few leave early but didn't realise until today just f***ing how many, I couldn't believe my eyes
I left soon as the whistle went, I couldn't believe how many people were already in their cars queuing to get out the car park! I dont see the point in why they do that as they're not let out until the crowds have gone

Don’t fall for the Mags’ propaganda and self pitying. Ashley should never be mentioned in the same vain as Dale when it comes to football club ownership.

I think this will go quiet for a couple of weeks now. Reading the local press they wanted their visit yesterday to be a low key affair.

He shouldn't even be used as an example of a low benchmark needed to pass a fit and proper persons test.

Fair point.

The StewDo Stand at least ... I agree ... if they pull this off they have played an absolute blinder. I was pleased with them before this latest ... some on here forget or don’t understand just what a desperate mess the club was in when we were relegated from the Championship and what a fabulous job they have done already. I’m hoping that if the deal comes off, between the new investors money and the professional management of Donald we can really unlock the club’s potential ... ITHICS

Wasn't Ashley summonsed to a govt select committee to explain some of his work practices for his staff though? Is that the fit and proper test they're talking about at EFL?

Fair point.

It's proper dreams can come true time. I hope!
No totally different
OK. Thanks for clarifying. I'm not too hot on both finance and legal so I usually defer to those of the know.
No totally different

Lot of toe curling legalese in there 🤪

Hope it's true, but where have those figures come from?
