3rd Ashes Test - Headingley

Don’t know if it’s my phone but can anyone see this thread on the main cricket page, I’m having to go too it from the page with all the board menus on

f***ing hell what should he do like bowl Johnny Bairstow!
How about manage his bowlers competently? They've only bowled 57 overs in the day yet they're dropping like they've bowled 120 in Mumbai.
His two quickest bowlers are on their f***ing knees because he doesn't know how to manage them. Stokes and Broad have both bowled more overs than Leach. If he hadn't cramped up there's a good chance Archer might have as well.
He doesn't have a clue.

How did it take Australia’s best batsman getting injured for them to pick the respectable Labuschagne?

It baffles me that he wasn’t selected ahead of clowns like Kawaja and Travis Head. Between both sides, this test match has had the worst batting I can remember seeing. He’s been the only saving grace.

The Aussies send their up-and-coming players to England to play in the CC and gain experience, not only of English conditions, but how to bat for long periods on bowler-friendly pitches against the red ball.

How many English players play Aussie State cricket, or even Grade cricket? Not many, I would say.

We play more and more limited-overs cricket using the white ball and wonder why our young players don't have the technique to cope with an accurately bowled red ball.

We don't even play red-ball cricket in our own country.

This team has been an absolute shambles in this series. If I hear one f***ing excuse from Root about being tired, I'll put my foot through the TV/internet
Considering test cricket is supposed to be the pinnacle of the game, both sides have been absolutely shocking. Can you imagine how bad the overall quality of this series would actually be for the casual viewer if there was no-one the level of Steve Smith? It’d be like watching amateurs.

Not being funny, but given the context of the game and the series, that shot from Stokes is the worst shot by an English player I think I've ever seen in my life. Genuinely think that.
Stokes has been by some margin England’s best player of the summer, too. Uncharacteristic given his consistency. At least in contrast to his team mates.

Perhaps the exhaustion of it all is just catching up with him.

I was talking about this with a friend earlier.
He was saying "How come the Aussies can come over here and play better against a Duke ball than our batsmen?"
I said to him, "They probably face as much Duke-ball cricket in their warm-up games as our batsmen do across the whole of the county season!"
Central contracts have been a double-edged sword when it comes to fresher players vs not enough red-ball cricket.
