Takeover Rumours

Yeah we’ve both been shit for a number of years.
Plenty space in both trophy rooms.
Exactly. This is why when they tell us they are some super duper enormous world famous footballing entity they just sound like a bunch of idiots. They’ve been a little bit better than us in my lifetime, but ultimately they’ve won nothing. If they’d had success of Man Utd proportions they’d be justified in their superiority complex. As it is they’re just another club in the grand scheme of things.

Well the website states the objective is" focused on maximizing long-term capital appreciation"

I don't see it as a Man City type project and I think it will be run sustainably.

It would have to be anyway for FFP purposes but as I said before, if they buy us for £50 million, spend £100 million getting us stable in the top flight then the income that generates would be sustainable enough imo.

why is the chairman not a football person? and what chairmen do you thinka re mroe qualfied than him?
also he must be good..they want him here!

Speculating that the new owners want to play with the big boys, is Stewart Donald connected and/or qualified enough to maneuver in those waters?

Apparently the richest owners in the world own New York Red Bulls @ 17.8billion USD. 2nd is Man City at 17billion USD. 3rd is Juve at 16billion USD.

Mr Dell is 25 billion + 3 billionaires in group makes 40billion apparently.

That is mental - we are now the richest club in the world.
Once it's officially announced obviously.

They will just do what the owners of City did to get round FFP and buy the naming rights of the stadium

Can't see it happening. Plus their scruffy, bitter and jealous fans deserve nothing. "Investors" you don't make money in football nowadays. They would have to put in fortunes to get them top 6 in the PL or anything like that for very little return. I don't see what's in it for them at all.

This has to be the best comment, the irony!!! They’ve spent the last 3 or 4 years, whinging at Ashley and shouting at shops to do exactly this, invest a fortune to hit top 6. 😂😂😂😂

Mag watch.....Thought I'd check on how they are taking the news

See the little blighters are getting hard ons about rumours of a takeover by the bloke who owns Dell. That would just underline the Summer if it was true mind

Seems to read like it's a bunch of blokes who are going to try and convince Michael Dell to spend his money, rather than Michael Dell owning them outright though

So basically it’s an investment group who are in charge of investing Dells cash, rather than a direct or consortium buyout?
I can’t see this ending as well and they think it will. Still, at least they have some hope.

4 times richer than Abramovic

Twice richer than Mansour also. Would just put a line under the Summer if it is him and he is putting money in. Might put more pressure on Ashley I presume as something like this might wake up the sheep.

That May night where these had lost the play-off final and The S*n break that we're about to be taken over. It felt amazing, like the pain was about to finally end.

And yet here we are. We have Ashley and Bruce, these are about to get Dell billionaires on board.

f***. ING. HELL.

Wouldn't be surprised as I think we're a shoe in to go down and if they are getting major investment (not sure what the actual alleged group is mind but they're wanking themselves silly over it so could be something) then it will happen. It may actually wake the sheep up and put big pressure on Ashley if it is major investment. As I said it would just sum up this Summer if it is true,

so we're believing that those two chancers are getting a bloke this rich to buy sunderland are we? seem to recall similar bed wetting about the uruguayan and that's worked out well for them so far

I can't wish relegation on us anymore if it means them scruffy small time c***s will be ahead of us next year. If there's one thing I hate more than Ashley/Bruce/bishop etc it's them. f*** all the bollocks we would have daily if they were above us.

We had a bit of p*ss taking and now there's hardly anything, them c***s would be relentless if they got one place above the mags

I hate the c***s and know how unbearable it would be if they were above us. Remember all that s*** may 2016!? I

There whole aim as a club is to be one place above the mags regardless of what league it is in. f*** giving them what they crave

Shithole of a "city". Bitter jealous fans. And a massive chip on their shoulder of all things Newcastle. That FTM bollocks is cringeworthy too. They rival us in nothing so shows them up to as the bitter c***s they are. It would be like Fulham holding some bitter grudge against Chelsea and claiming they are rivals

Can’t blame them for being excited and for having hope. However I do believe it’s being made out as something more than what they are going to get. They are being told that they are going to be the 2nd richest club in the country and are owned by the guy from Dell. In truth they are being owned by an investment company which has Dell as a client. The individual wealths of the owners won’t matter too much as they are being owned by the investment company which unsurprisingly will be out to take a profit, and if everything goes wrong, the owners will be protected from having to bail them out with their own money. FFP rules will also mean that they can’t just throw loads of money around, even if it was their aim.
These guys may not be investing huge sums or be able too, but at least from their point of view they should be ran the right way.

The most undeserving c***s for this to happen too as well, if it actually happens.

We just have to hope it's another Ellis Short. It says in the Chronicle that it's with MSD Partners, rather than MSD Capital, meaning Michael Dell will be very passive and not really involved.
They're saying everything I was thinking when I thought they were getting took over haha

But you've no real idea have you?

Neither have I but I hope it will be a wonderful opportunity and give us a great club that will win things.

I'm just a little curious as to why some people are keen to play it down and advise others to calm down and not get too excited.

Getting excited is harmless.

(This isn't personal btw, I'm just more likely to get a sensible response from you.)

That's all any of us could ask for marra.
The sane amongst us maybe. We should already have enough now for promotion. So ideally it gives them about 7 months to have a good look at things. However if it's tight at the top you just know there will be outcry if we don't spend millions in January.

Surely they’ll stump up cash to get us going! Out of the Championship if we get there and in the Premiership initially then become self sufficient onwards? We won’t get there otherwise

I would much rather them invest money in a recruitment/management staff...we need smart innovative people behind the scenes or we’ll just be paying millions for shit players again.

Yeah I know all that and agree, but what makes you believe the investment won't be as good as some people hope ...
... do you know anything about the people involved or anything about their plans?
It’s undoubtedly a good thing and there are a lot of tongue in cheek posts but there are people on here saying they’ve been in tears, raising a glass to their dead loved ones etc. It’s way over the top.

Most likely scenario is not much changes. These people are from an investment firm with the intention to make money not spend, spend, spend. Obviously to make money we need to be in the PL and we’ll need to spend to get there but as I don’t see SD changing his approach based on this news. It’s going to be slow and steady, which is fine but some people seem to be expecting us to buy all our problems away. As LA posted, just because the owner has cash doesn’t mean the club does.
