Of course he could. He'll be part of the group owning the club. Passive just means not involved actively in the management. Although they're sole owners, both Roman Abramovic and Mike Ashley aren't on the boards of their respective clubs. That hasn;t stopped them putting money in.

what does this really mean GOM? Do you think this is good for the club?

Of course this is good news. These blokes are investors, and will 100% be looking to make money. The bonus for us is that we wont make much in League One, and realistically not in the Championship. Their plan has to be the Premier League and if they have a plan to get us there and stay there that is gonna fill their pockets, then it's a yes from me.

Well it's all down to Charlie this one apparently so yes we should, the current owners (if this comes off!) Have done everything they said they would bar get us promoted and that isn't something they have direct control of, I know the moaners are now desperate for something negative but I really think credit should be given when due.

Double like for this.

The devil is in the detail, when it emerges. At the moment, it's ambiguous as to whether it's them in person, the four of them creating a new investment vehicle (just a variation on the first there), or via MSD Partners. Until filings begin to appear at Companies House, it's impossible to say,
You are the man to identify the devil in the detail for benefit of us all

I can only hope this is the start of a new era for our club mate. Better times. Optimism. Hope that one day other teams will come to Sunderland with fear and trepidation. Times when we can play anyone without anxiety. Times when we can play anyone and they’ll know they’ve been in a game of football.
Absolutely mate, and well said.
