Takeover Rumours

I know exactly why. But posters on here latch on to everyone saying that Donald is god, he’s given our club back and transparency. Etc.

In reality he’s just a figure head making personal gain. I don’t blame him but I do blame the gullible idiots who idolise him because he has selfies outside the ground with fans and babies.

Thought this was worth a bump.

The first 10 pages of this thread make for interesting reading

And your suspicions are built on what exactly, personal knowledge of the people involved?

And, even if your wild guess is right, selling the club for that kind of profit would mean we'd be in the PL with a wealthy owner.

Where's the problem?

Empirical evidence of hundreds of football investors over the last few years. Evidence of how their investment group operates and a balance of probability. I didn’t say I had a problem, said some others should keep their panties on and wait for the takeover to happen and them to declare their intentions before getting too excited

Safc probably has the biggest potential upside of any football club in the UK right now, if they get the right people in and the right model they could take us from being worth £50m to £500m in 5 years. Hopefully the 5 year plan is better than the last one.

Does this mean we can sign Maddison now...
5 f***ing years. I'm 73 man

Very true. Just warning of caution as there is undoubtedly some overexcitement going around here at the moment. I’d be suprised if it was another Man City type thing - although you could get a bigger return on investment by pushing that much further if you really wanted to

Where's the harm in people being excited, we've had years of torment and ended up in the 3rd division.

It's up to the individual how excited they get.

Let'be honest though... these blokes are billionaires, will they really be THAT srsed about 7 years worth of work for £200m split 4 ways?

They'll make three times that plus per year

Whatever happens will be good, but you're right - there's no way yet of knowing how good.

Overly aggressive aren’t we? Didn’t say they couldn’t do what they want at all - crack on. It’s also a message board for opinions and I’m giving mine. Thanks

We are in the lowest position in our history and yet the founder and CEO of one of the most recognisable and innovative companies of the last 20 years is investing in our football club. It’s a huge vein of hope for the future, ofcourse we won’t do a Man City the top 6 are a closed shop no matter what money is ploughed on. The odds on us seeing SAFC lift a major trophy in our lifetimes are shortened though when a man so rich gets involved, we might as well give up if this can’t excite people.

Definitely some going over the top on here mind. Depends on what their intentions are, but I’d suspect they’d want to get us into the PL and make a nice £200m+ profit, rather than do a Man City and poor money in to win things.

All guess work but they'll be wanting us in the Premiership and sharpish....that in itself will cost a lot of money.

I'm not bothered about fighting it out for titles (it would be nice of course) but if they can come in and get us up there and not be just the league's whipping boys, then I'll be more than happy with that.

Poor buggers. One of my fondest moments in football was at Gigg Lane. We'd just tanked them and if memory serves relegated them in a game that clinched promotion. Their fans stayed till the end and clapped us out of the ground. They may be few in number but their love of the game matches our own.
We had a pint in their social club after the match and they were superb.

Try enjoying the moment, have you seen where we are at the minute?

They won’t do any work for it. They make such volumes of money by having hundreds of such companies. They’ll invest accordingly, leave it to Donald and come back in a few years, sell up and pocket the money. Same as Ellis’ plan was with Quinn, till it went tits up. Their involvement will be minimal - even being on the board they’ll probably only be there asset insurance
