@Lord Alfred created a thread a few weeks back asking what people wanted to see out of our first few games. I said that I wanted good performances and xG dominance - as that would be a better indicator of our ability to get automatic promotion over a full season than a few lucky early wins. I’m happy with the points, of course, but I can’t go back on what I said. Given what we saw last season I’m not at all confident of promotion after these first few games. Things need to improve significantly or we’re heading for another season of disappointment.

We were pretty awful tonight and still managed to win.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy watching that football but for me this season is all about getting promoted. Winning games gets you promoted.

We best rochdale away last season. The home draws cost us against oxford and fleetwood etc. And what happened this season against oxford?
 
A nervy ending but the Lads manage to hold on to take maximum points back to Wearside. Goals from McGeady and Wyke once again seal the win for SAFC.
 
I was pleased by that. It wasn't perfect, but we got through, and actually looked pretty comfortable up to the last 15 minutes. Ozturk and Willis looked good again and Grigg looked a bit better. Fine otherwise, really. We won.
