2ND ASHES TEST: LORDS

Rubbish. If that were the case then every visiting captain in England who’s had a ball tampering incident would be booed. They’re not.

He’s booed for the same most others are... mob behaviour. Most people are led around by the nose by tabloid media and think exactly as they’re told to. They get involved because elite sport these days is covered like a soap opera and people allow themselves to buy into it. Cricket Aust threw them on the fire in a warped PR strategy, the media got the shots they wanted to turn them into pantomime villains, and people like you just gobble it up.

If you can’t see a link between Smith being hit in the exact same spot as Hughes and the sensitivity around that, you’re fairly thick.

Ah, so I'm just a bit thick and can't possibly make up my own mind? How very condescending of you!

The whitewashing from history of the Australian culture of cheating continues, however you need to justify it to yourselves.

Think anything over 4 an over us tough to chase on here and we should gamble. If we draw we must win 3 tests. If we lose we must win 3 tests. Nothing to lose here really. 220 off 55 overs and I’d be declaring and asking them to have a go.

It’s why we should push a bit now, 25 runs is not a lot to get from here with wickets intact .

Agreed. We have to send out a signal of intent. If they either get it or hang on, we just have to hold our hands up, but we can't let an opportunity like this go without at least having a go.

Genuinely think now is the time to swing the bat. They won't know what to do, mentally they've accepted (or want to accept) the draw.

It’s ironic that when we wanted them to play carefully they were swinging the bat
