Thing is Newcastle fans rarely take into account the fee they paid for the players the sell. Take mitrovic signed for around 13m, sold for around 22m. The only figure they include in the net spend is the 22m, the forget that they spent big money in these players originally. Most of their big money sales that Benitez gets his net spend comfort blanket came from big money buys.
