I think Dobson will be fine, I wouldn't be against him and 09 in CM though I can see Luke being RB again if he reverts back to a four, he might not be a natural there but makes less mistakes than any of the other players at the back. I was hoping Robson would be available more for the CM berth but unfortunately it looks like he is made from the same wet toilet paper as Watmore

I understand a defensive midfielder has to tackle, block and restrict the opposition and set up attacks from the back, which of these things did McGeoch do yesterday? His much heralded passing was all over the place and he found touch more than our own players, he's also slow and weak as piss.

To be honest I only saw the last 35 minutes cos I was working. I know they were saying we’d shown improvement so we must have been bad but I didn’t see it. We did ok in what I saw and McGeouch seemed to be playing a part in preventing Ipswich counter attacking and getting it moving again. I realise those watching the full game had a different experience.
My view is this though. We had too many new players and a new system, to play so few pre games. We look like we’re still ‘storming’ and need not to be in competitive games. That seems to have cost us for definite. I wonder why that happened? Managers choice ? Disorganisation? Money ?

Every player should be looking to drive us forward and to create chances. The fact that we've had 2 shots on target from open play in 2 games is a perfect reflection of Mr negative Jack Ross and his negative midfield maestro with his 2 assists in 150 games. This jock makes Cattermole look like Messi

He's a defensive midfielder, how many defensive midfielders create or score loads of goals? That's not what his role in the team is. Cattermole pushed further forward last season, McGeouch isn't in the team for that purpose.

Fair enough if you didn't see the first hour, you missed a total shit show in which Hume and McGeoch were the stars, one got hooked at half time and the other should have been, agree about the system no one looks comfortable and we looked miles better after we scored and seemed to up a gear which suggests an injection of confidence was needed, would love to see us score first for once and see if that makes a difference, we still seem to have a hangover from last season.

If ever a footballer epitomises his manager it’s this little fraud. Negative as hell, not a single shot on target in his SAFC career from our midfield dynamo. Slow, no presence, passes backwards and sideways and stops any sort of momentum. I can totally understand why Ross, who knew him so well from Scotland was hell bent on signing him and making him one of the highest paid players this league has ever seen. A negative sick note.
He’s decent one game and then shit the next. He’s about 5ft as well. Should’ve binned him in the summer

He's there to recycle the ball and get the plays moving, sitting in front of the defence like Jorginho at Chelsea. Clearly not there to be box-to-box Lampard style, it's not his game

This isn’t allowed. If you’re not a midfielder that drives forward or puts big tackles in, you’re shite.

Of all the players that have been shite for us so far and people single the one out who’s been the best.

Unfortunately he's the replacement for a player who scored 7 last season and was our best CM. Incrementally we're weaker as a team.
But cattermole was rubbish to those same people. Clueless.

Mcgeochs job is to keep it moving which I think he does well

He just has very little positive effect on the game. The problem with McGeouch is simple for me. People are trotting out names of defensive midfielders from teams at the top end of the Premier League. Unlike McGeouch those players are surrounded by very good attacking players, goal scorers and assist makers who allow the likes on Kante to be fairly one deminsional, win the ball, pass it square or backwards.

Dylan McGeouch is in an average player, in an average team that doesn't possess brilliant attacking players. That makes him look negative, simply passing the buck to other average players. He can be sharp on his day, winning the ball, decent first touch, recycling the ball. Yesterday he was awful.

Against Oxford I was looking for any player to go the extra mile, make a run into space, offer themselves for the ball, have a dribble or a shot. Basically make things happen in the final third. McGeouch will never be that man.

Cattermole was that man several times last season, driving forward, out of his comfort zone, his normal defensive game and scoring a few goals.

That is a proper team player, standing up to be counted when the going gets tough.

Or you could just play your normal game and pass the ball 5 yards square...
He was our best player against Oxford and was the least of our problems yesterday.

I don’t understand why he’s being singled out every week.

McGeouch was awful yesterday, totally anonymous first half.

Because he doesn't do anything, he's weak, slow doesn't tackle and is king of the 10yrd sideways pass and he couldn't even manage that yesterday, I can see why Ross didn't trust him last season and I'm not sure why he does this, he's poor.

McGeouch doesn’t play that position. Isn’t hard to understand. He plays a different role and is clearly instructed by Ross to do certain things. Perhaps if others woke up to his quick free kicks they wouldn’t lose possession. He recycles well and breaks up play. Can’t complain and we have worse players

Did you expect Cattermole to chip in half a dozen goals last season? That's not his role but he did it for the good of the team. We haven't got the players to carry a water carrier, a blind man can see it.

Is McXavi the reason we only hev one shot at Gerl......Aaaa knaa whee's Jerb it is to fix it....

Wish this auto correct would Fook off....
