Dylan McGeouch

That's not the best comparison you've ever made Stevie lad
:p Yes kante is French and Dylan is scotch but they are both small defensive midfielders.
Every player should be looking to drive us forward and to create chances. The fact that we've had 2 shots on target from open play in 2 games is a perfect reflection of Mr negative Jack Ross and his negative midfield maestro with his 2 assists in 150 games. This jock makes Cattermole look like Messi
No they shouldn’t. This isn’t school yard football.

McGeouch is the least of our worries in this team. Some people are blinded by personal feelings.
What personal feelings? He isn't a positive proactive player and that's what we need in central midfield, and as someone has brought up Kante that is what is needed from a defensive CM, tenacious, combative and with the energy and running to carry us forward when needed, Dylan has none of these attributes.

You don’t get players like that at league one level. Everyone in the PL is looking for one never mind us. He is fine, he was in the team during our best two runs last season, and was man of the match last week. He reads the game well and sweeps up in the middle, freeing up the other midfield options to attack. The way we are setup, if going 442, we don’t need a marauding CM, we need to keep it tight and let McGeady and maguire have more freedom out wide

For the same role he’s better than leadbitter.leadbitter looks done as being able to play every game but both will get game time.just wrong that we still have the slowest smallest team in every league we seem to play in

No. In a team sport you rarely have the entire team playing near their maximum ability. That’s why it’s possible to carry under performers at a lower level.

True to an extent but if we used, say, Flanagan's performance last week as an example. His own performance was sub par without a doubt. Because of that it impacted on Hume's performance which ultimately made our left side vulnerable and also negated any attacking threat down that side so affecting the supply into the strikers.

Yesterday was the whole team being under par for over an hour.

You need someone to get us going and have a bit of forward vision, Grant and Power can do everything McGeoch can do with the added ability of having a shot at goal, delivering a decent set piece and being stronger in the tackle, he should be third choice behind these two imo.

Grant can barely move, he’s that crippled. Sorry but he’s awful - should be nowhere near the team. And power missed most of preseason and the managers been quoted several times saying he isn’t fit. I believe our midfield should be McGeouch, power and onien, with McGeady maguire and mcnulty up front. Gives us energy and extra freedom for the wide men, and lets us compete in the middle. All of our strikers are shite so don’t see why you’d want to play two of them to be honest. Don’t think Dobsons up to that much either.

I thought poor for 60 mins yesterday. Didn’t look to turn on the ball quickly at all, was taking quick free kicks nobody was ready for.

Last 30 mins he did a good job, seemed to be covering the channel a lot helping out McLaughlin.

I think Dobson will be fine, I wouldn't be against him and 09 in CM though I can see Luke being RB again if he reverts back to a four, he might not be a natural there but makes less mistakes than any of the other players at the back. I was hoping Robson would be available more for the CM berth but unfortunately it looks like he is made from the same wet toilet paper as Watmore
McGeouch divides this board ...... into those who understand football and those who think a defensive playmakers job is to score goals.
I understand a defensive midfielder has to tackle, block and restrict the opposition and set up attacks from the back, which of these things did McGeoch do yesterday? His much heralded passing was all over the place and he found touch more than our own players, he's also slow and weak as piss.
