We had 5 players who played at left back last season. We sold/got rid of 4 and kept the youngest and most inexperienced and did not bring anyone in.
Can someone please explain the logic because I think it is the height of stupidity. I realise he is the cheapest.

You should be able to get an answer as loads of people on here waxed lyrical about Hume's prospects.

I honestly think the manager isn't very good at identifying if a player is good enough for this league.

His selections and the players he has chosen to sign are very worrying.

Spot on. Plenty of posters on here had him ahead of Oviedo and James when he wasn’t getting a game. People keep complaining our youngsters aren’t getting a game and then complain when they do. For some reason we’re much harsher on lads who come through our academy (look at Henderson for example). That said, we need competition for him and I would have kept James.

Money is the only reason he's playing. Not sure why we let James go. He was uninspiring but solid enough.

He was good for a large part of the season. Probably looked worse than he was when we started playing crap. Better than Hume by a mile
