its not the fans fault the club is in league one tbh...thats bad management for a decade..

it will be the fans that stop safc hitting its true potential in the higher leagues though..
Give over man you utter buffoon.

What a clown. I refer you to the Chelsea and Everton games which happened 3 years ago. We also sent the Mags down with a win. What were the fans like then?
You know when we had a team with passion and a capable manager for example. Not a load of plodders, nobodies and a manager so far out of his depth he’s like a beached f***ing whale.

Ha'way mate, I think that's a little unfair. Whilst he has said a few things that have been negative, he also raves about our support and potential. You've got to look at the overall picture surely, it's not as though the bloke has only ever said bad things about our fans.

If truth be told, our vocal support could be better. Our fans could be more patient within the ground. Obviously there are excuses for both, but the criticism is also justified imo.

No problem with him commenting on atmosphere. We were flat, although the team gave us nothing. It was more a sense of “here we go again”... We’ve been battered for 6 or 7 years now. We need a lift.

These comments though were unnecessary and inflammatory

“Ultimately Sunderland fans need to get realistic about that [staying in League One], Charlton have been in the Premier League for much of the last 20, 30 years and they had 40,000 fans to our 34,000 fans.
On sheer size of club, it's hard to say that Charlton are the ones that deserved to stay down.”

the problem is safc fans always go on about it being a massive club and talk up the gates and the potenntial..then do t sell out..it looks bad..charlie was wrong to say what he said..but safc fans are sometimes wrong to highlight potential when they dont sell out..

Not sure who you are (you’re not Charlie ) but you’re not a Sunderland fan mind. You’re definitely not one of us..

Bang on Charlie, fans are part of the problem, numerous managers, numerous players cannot perform at the SOL, vast swathes of fans sit there in silence or moan like Fook.....why bother going?

This atmosphere problem is by no means unique to Sunderland, over the last 30 years the atmosphere at grounds throughout the country has got progressively worse

The introduction of all seater stadiums started the decline, and now a significantly lower number of supporters join in the singing than in the past

Some of the worst affected clubs are the likes of man united, Arsenal and Chelsea who probably attract a different type of supporter to in the past

Maybe he’s right the atmosphere could have been better at Wembley, but in criticising us for it makes it looks like he’s just looking for someone to blame

When he said £12 isn’t a lot of money . It really can be here

And can be also in every part of the country. Bristol's a rich city, but that makes it a comparatively expensive place to live, and it's a very hard place to get by on a low income. There are pockets of poverty here that are worse than Sunderland, believe me; they just don't get noticed because everyone chooses to see the rich bits. Demographically, Sunderland is probably underrepresented in higher income ranges, which gives the impression of comparative poverty. No-one should ever decry those who can't go to matches for economic reasons; you certainly won't get me going that. Those who can afford to, but choose to sit in a pub watching a dodgy stream instead are a different matter,
I can't argue with your point that the 2 Wembley performances were poor, but as so many had made the expensive trip down, why not vocally support the team to rev them up?? I've seen us and many other fans do it over many seasons.
I recall vividly being at Villa Park 80--81 and despite being 4 down, we sang solidly for the last 15 minutes pledging our love which even Barry Davies commented on. That's support and I'm sorry, our vocal support at both Wembley finals was piss poor and I like any other safc fan there that day was culpable.

Living in Brum at the time, I had a fair few Villa supporting mates. The word I got back after that was that the Holte End were absolutely gobsmacked by that, and that their respect for us had gone up enormously. They thought we were tremendous, if not also totally bonkers.

Let’s get their first though eh, unfortunately I don’t see that the manager or owners have a plan! We’ve again signed players that don’t fit his system, I know the transfer window isn’t closed but we are weaker than last season in my opinion

Arses on seats. Selling our name. Changing the club badge
Jollies having pints with possible parasites ?
Very strange , total backtrack from the southern gob
swanning around Hendon beach in pink Bermuda shorts and a cheesecloth shirt listening to Yacht Rock.
A light lunch in the Hendon Grange followed by cocktails in the Blue House before moving onto the Burton House

safc havent sold out for a decade..unless the man utds chelseas oir liverpools come..

so if we cant even sell out in the premier league..admittdedly mostky bad premeir league seasons..then there is no hope..

and you couldnt sell out wmbley..a cup finlal or play off final are always worth watching..

but aye massive club potential etc..
Freudian slip or an indication of something else?

Are you thick ? He never let up last year constantly begging for people to attend. Obviously we attend anyway and don't need his desperate appeals
He has hopefully stfu for.good.and maybe try and get Sartori to invest . His millionaire mate
41,287 - 2016/17
27,635 - 2017/18
32,157 - 2018/19

clearly we don't. his begging got (on average) 5k more people to attend.

Gallows humour/mentality isn't it. Gannin' to Villa Park and getting turned over isn't as infuriating as an abject home display after weeks and weeks of mounting frustration.

im more a rue fa of safc than those (not you) who are eager to find the negative and are doing the bidding of peopletring to make safc fail..people with an agenda because they were made redundant or didnt get to buy the club off ellis..those people are the probelm...and the poepl who claim to be fans but never do owt for the club..

poyet called the problem the "something he couldnt put his finger on"...until that is fixed..safc wont hit its potenial..

What exactly do you do for the club other than prolifically post incendiary, contradictory, incoherent nonsense on here?

That’s it. Bollocks to London I’m moving home.
