meaning ‘you’re done’.. ‘it’s over’ or ‘go home’ or ‘give over’ etc..
great saying like but just Googled it and Google knows nowt of it.
Is it a saying specific to Sunderland like? After the old ritual of handing your band in at the desk at Crowtree Leisure Centre swimming pool when your colour light flashed up after your hour?

I figured out what it meant before you explained which is a good sign, but I can't say I've heard it before. I like it though.

I quite like that but I wouldn't get the chance to use it because I usually drop the shoulder rather than telling anybody I am done.

No you don’t tell people you’re handing your band in. You tell others when it’s time they went or they’ve had a few drinks and they’re being a worky-ticket... “ha’way man, hand your band in, eh”

it is a great Sun’lund saying like.

Now, there’s a blast from the past.

Yellow band with build in locker key.

Off to Chequers for gravy and chips with your eyes stinging like mad.
