FIRST ASHES TEST: Edgbaston

Could be a moral victory for England in the end here. In all likelihood the chance of victory is slim. The chances of a draw aren't much better.

If the Australians can't finish England off then they will not be impressed.

I know Edgbaston is normally a fortress, but have to look at the situations as they occur.

Yeah. Sometimes you have to recognise genius. And on a flat pitch he’s gonna he hard to get out

If I could be arsed I would look up his stats per country
My theory is that he did a Robert Johnson except instead of selling his soul to the devil he simply sold any element of charisma or general likeability as a person for his gifts instead. He has a family but routinely talks about cricket being the most important thing in his life. And he looks like a middle aged woman who would be called Carol. Complete twat.

But he’s bloody good at batting.

I’m pretty certain he was bullied at school

What a bizarre decision to open the bowling with Siddle.
I think this series is basically a majority of cricketers who don’t understand the Test format nearly as well as they should, and 2 or 3 who are very good-excellent at it

Harsh. I’d say that Root, Stokes, Broad and Anderson and then Warner, Smith, Hazelwood, Lyon, Starc and Cummins are all excellent test players

Slow pitch or not, this is going to take some serious application to save the draw here
