Everyone knows that.

Also that he flip flops from that sort of stellar form to dross, e. g. Australia 17-18.

Do you think our selectors would have had the guts to drop Starc and Hazelwood?

Yes I do. I think if our quicks had all been fit and available there would have been rotation. I don’t think Broad for example would play all 5 but may do because of injuries elesewhere.

So why do you think it was so outrageous for the selectors to choose to pick the biggest wicket taker in world cricket in the last 12 months. Give clarity and try not to answer with a question. Thanks
He’s bowled poorly in this match but had clearly earned the opportunity

And you are presumably one of a number of posters who get upset by and jump on anything vaguely negative so we end up with a lack of debate and rival echo chambers with each other on ignore.

Addressing the point not the poster, 91 lead on a first innings is generally not enough to offset the disadvantage of batting fourth, unless its an overall low scoring wicket. Factor in they have Smith at the crease and our best bowler is injured, yes its advantage Australia, unless we pull something special out of the bag.

I stand by anything over 300 and they have won the game. Below that and we will win.
youre forgetting the fact if we chase 300 we will have only one day left with rain forecast

This is tragic from Ali
Needs to be dropped.

Selection of Ali could very well have cost the game. Anderson a huge loss but this wicket has rapidly turned into a spinners wicket and he can't get anyth

1. He's bowled poorly in all formats since the West Indies tour finished.
2. He's a confidence player and as seen in 17-18 the Aussies will target anyone like that
3. SA managed to identify and exploit a weakness to slow left arm off spin in Smith last year. Given Smith's ability to win a match single handedly, he had to play for me, I said this from months ago

NB Starc and Hazelwood were dropped on pre-series form.
