FIRST ASHES TEST: Edgbaston

Did you realise Ali is the highest wicket taker in the world since August 2018. Getting those 47 wickets at 24. That's probably why he was selected.

Everyone knows that.

Also that he flip flops from that sort of stellar form to dross, e. g. Australia 17-18.

Do you think our selectors would have had the guts to drop Starc and Hazelwood?

No disrespect mate, but you are very negative poster mind where England cricket is concerned.

If there is negative or positive to take from anything you seem to take the negative nearly all the time

You seemed to do that quite often during the World Cup.

Of course England could lose this test match but there definitely not currently behind in it, they have played the best cricket of the two teams.

And you are presumably one of a number of posters who get upset by and jump on anything vaguely negative so we end up with a lack of debate and rival echo chambers with each other on ignore.

Addressing the point not the poster, 91 lead on a first innings is generally not enough to offset the disadvantage of batting fourth, unless its an overall low scoring wicket. Factor in they have Smith at the crease and our best bowler is injured, yes its advantage Australia, unless we pull something special out of the bag.

I stand by anything over 300 and they have won the game. Below that and we will win.

Batting well, these two  How are we going to get one or the other of them out?!

This ball changing carry on is getting very dull now. More to the point, what's going on with this latest batch of Dukes balls? Looks like the sort of shite Kookaburra produce, rather than a proper dark red ball that we're used to.
