The booing at full time

If a post like that had been written my a Newcastle fan about the mags, we would rightfully have torn them apart.

Our facilities are the best and we have a decent budget, but we are also a club with a lot of high earners eating into that budget which more established clubs at this level do not have.
Good facilities also cost money which eats into the budget further. More established clubs have poorer facilities, but less overheads.

We need to accept we are a League One club again this season. Being arrogant and expecting to walk the league based on a fancy stadium, decent crowds and a mythical "good budget" will do us no favours

We should be up there fighting this season, like last season. But we have no god given right to it

It’s not arrogant to have high expectations in our circumstances.

Cause and effect

This time last year we were led to believe Stewrat and Methvan knew what they were doing and appointing a manager from the Scottish Championship was some kind of masterstroke
The owners said the draws last season were unacceptable and have to change. So its unacceptable to them.
I can imagine Charlie Meth booing his arse off in the executive box after one too many snifters tbf

Last season I'd have agreed. But this season started today. What we did last year or a few years ago is irrelevant.

The season started today, we got a draw. Not the end of the world and if we are there or thereabouts (as i expect) in the new year it will be forgotten. But we have no right to expect to win every game based on the fact we have a good crowd and nice stadium.

Leave that attitude to them up the road

Who said we have a right? We are the biggest side in this league, and we should have high ambitions.

Helpful or not, it feels like we have just been on an extended break from last season.

No lessons have been learned seemingly, and we’re playing in a very similar way albeit in a different formation. It’s understandable people are frustrated. It’s a cop out to just say “it’s only the first game of the season” - this is the hangover from a dismal end to last season.
A lot of our support have seen the signs many times before now and it's not often they are wrong like!

didnt say that. In seasons you have ruts where you get runs of draws etc. We came very close to getting enough to go up. Very close. In other seasons wed have been fine. I think Ross has earned another crack at it.
John Cooke could have managed us to the same position with the players at his disposal quite easily

This

Was on sky sports saying our fans help the opposition.
I pay money. I have a right to boo. It was shite.
They are all well paid, including the manager. If they are not up to the task, then admit it and walk away.
This is our fans attitude. We are shite.

That needs to stop.

It doesn’t help anything.

We will get better as the team gels & the season goes on.

Agreed, it’s pathetic. Childish. This is sport and this our level it’s meant to be competitive. People need to get over their sense and f entitlement.

Tell you if the fans had been booing the team it would never have clicked in 1977. In the Gus incedible year it would never have happened without ‘things will only get better’ attitude.
Get over yourselves and support the team that’s our role in this

No it doesn't.....Fans are entitled to boo alomg with cheering! Who are you to demand such shite?

His last sentence is a matter of opinion, the first two indisputable logic.

You want a self fulfilling prophecy... keep booing
Nothing at all suggests we’ll get better. Ross has had 60 games now and doesn’t know his team and doesn’t know his system. Every single game we play we get worse and worse under him. Every player he signs is worse than the one he replaces. What players need to gel? There haven’t been many changes to the 11, especially in forward areas.

I don’t disagree, but booing does not help and the longer the team play hopefully the better they will get.
Booing just heaps on pressure and helps opposition... not a good idea

You been in some kind of enforced sleep state.
We are a third division side now and we can afford 3rd division players in both ability and mentality.
Get over yourself and support or don’t go

Spoken like a true happy clapper. There is absolutely nothing to suggest this team will get better. Blind faith gets you nowhere.

Started four players today that weren't even on the books two months ago. Going to take a bit of time to bed in. Two most creative players (McGeady & Maguire) aren't fully fit yet. And by League One standards, we're absurdly deep, which can be really helpful with the extra load of matches.

And it may not be as big a challenge to be at the top as last year - Portsmouth and the Posh don't seem dramatically better, and of the three coming down, Rotherham might be decent, but Ipswich was even worse in the Championship than we were, and Bolton is more likely to fold than to be in the promotion race.

Finally, there's been plenty of years where we closed strong, but it had little impact on the following season. So why should the poor finish automatically have an impact?

Plenty of reasons we might get better, no guarantees, but you can't claim there's nothing.

For fuck sake mate, we were playing Oxford not f***ing Barcelona!!
Fans have a right to vent their anger, We should be pissing this league yet we get ANOTHER f***ing draw!

If we are not top or at least 2nd going into October id chase this barmy fucka, draws are no good to no tnuc!
Nobody has the right to think they will walk this division. Yes it is only division 3. But you signed division 3 players. If you signed Championship players it would be a different matter.

I expect us to be an attacking team, we were shit, as we have been for around the last 8 league games

Your circumstances?

Having to get rid of players not good enough/not putting in enough effort before you could put a squad together isn't the best start. Bringing in players last secind before the season starts leaving no time to gel or get used to hiw each other play isn't the best either.
