Durham Promotion or England Ashes Win?

The biggest series in cricket, which you grew up watching and most of time seeing us getting beat.

Or promotion for a team who weren’t even a first class county when you were growing up.

It’s not even close for me, then again always been a country before club person, same would apply for a similar situation in football.

Durham every day of the week.
Supported them since 1976 firstly as a minor county then from 1992 as a first class county.

It's been a long time since I've been particularly fussed about England.

You don’t support Durham CCC, so I wouldn’t expect you to begin to understand the feelings of those who do. You can’t be a country before club person when you don’t support a club.

Don't support Durham, so this is easy.

But also don't get this at all. Wouldn't trade in a long-awaited country championship for my side for an Ashes victory, not at all. Imagine the Aussies winning here man, f***ing hell. No, not for me. Never.

Yeah that’s fair, both in football and cricket from a very young age, have been too busy playing both sports myself to really support and be connected to either Sunderland or Durham, that coupled with been a patriotic person has meant country in both sports has always come first for me.

I also think both football and cricket national teams are the for the people of the country and don’t connect them to the FA or ECB

Durham for me. I like following England and that, but it's not quite the same if I'm honest :)

Aye, lots of weaknesses in our side that would be woefully exposed if we went up IMO.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d take it hands down. I’d just rather see us build a solid foundation of a team that competes for the Championship rather than yo yo’s.
