Root hasn’t covered himself in glory in this match and I know that Denly isn’t any good but Root shouldn’t run him out
I worry about Root’s captaincy nous against the crafty convicts
Sometimes he looks like a little boy lost against the aggressive Aussie bad boys
I am worried that the sandpaper gang will be too sharper operators next week with the moving red ball if Anderson is only half fit

It was terrible decision to bat first and he's made a few other gaffes (not least the run out).
Otherwise, there's been an awful lot of stinking batting. Amongst other things, I really wonder what Ali has to offer.

Not convinced at all with Root as skipper like

Ireland won't be chasing too many runs, it seems. Slow pitch, some moisture in the air... 200-ish could still be tricky for them, and it'll be a close finish

Still fancy us to snatch it but this has been a pitiful batting performance across 2 innings. Too close to the first Ashes test to make wholesale changes, not that I think they would anyway, but only Root and Roy should be safe.

I was 20 secs late in putting my earphones in and missed the end of our innings

Reminds me of the time i nipped to the toilet as Lennox Lewis was fighting Glenn McCory - it was about 10 mins in when I realised there weren't still doing the pre-match ramble and were actually talking about the completed fight!

There are no better players. We're just shuffling the same pack over and over again expecting different results.

We need a total change in mindset and strategy in test cricket, coaches who understand this format.
