I’ve no issue with a rest for Buttler and Stokes

I do have an issue with

- a patronising as fuck 4 day test because it’s little Ireland
- a side with Ali at 6 and thus no balance at all
- a side on a green top with 2 spinners
- a toss that clearly had no thought
- brainless batting. Hello Jonny Bairstow
- an absolute waste of the new ball

Because 3 is supposed to come in when the openers have taken the shine off the new ball - unfortunately no-ones found a way to take the shine off in the two overs that the opening partnership usually lasts!

You would like to think not, but having watched the wickets on the BBC app, it appears any slight movement is giving us major problems
