I was there for my first ever forum even though I've been a member since 1992

so I'm not sure if they all are as low key as that one and I was suprised how few there was in attendance.
Bancroft and Franklin were there and there was some gentle ribbing by Marty about the World Cup win but both acknowledged that England had played the best cricket. Bancroft said that both teams couldnt wait to get off the pitch to watch the end of the game.
Marty mentioned about the contribution made by the players in the Final with a Durham connection and when he said that this was a club that the ECB nearly destroyed 3 years ago there was a big cheer.
Bancroft was asked about the forthcoming 12 a side Aussie trial at the Rosebowl and it was acknowledged by the coach that while it would be sad for Durham to lose him it would be an honour for the player to get back in.Franklin jokes there was no contingency plan if Bancroft was called up but there was a bit of nudge nudge about that.
Rushy's magnificent contribution was praised by coach and captain.
Marty revealed the viewing figures for the World Cup and Bancroft said that in Oz the Tests were on free to view which he said would be great if the same could happen in this country but realised this wouldn't happen.
Someone asked if next seasons downgraded 50 over competition would be an opportunity to blood our youngsters and Franklin said we had been doing it this season with the likes of S Steel, Trev etc.
Marty said the ECB must be the only Governing Body in sport which seems to hate the sport it governs.

and the Coach said they want their bottoms kicking or words to that effect if the ECB let the opportunities available from the Workd Cup win slip through their hands (as if they'd do something like that)
Another lad asked about the chances of bringing back a Cup competition involving all teams playing each other but Franklin said he couldnt see how they could fit it in although he acknowledged he would like to play some of the southern counties but then Marty reminded him of previous seasons when DCCC were at Bristol then next week Taunton etc.
It was asked about the turnaround in our fortunes and they both said about the resilience that we have showed and how various individuals have stepped up to the mark at times of crisis and how Red Telephone taking over the CC threads...er.. that last bits a lie
To be honest it was over quite sharpish and I'm sure others who were there may remember more.
