Away kit

The overall shirt design looks fine enough, might even stretch to I like it, two tone blue effect canny enough, good trim contrast and colours, red lines down the sides. Sponsor very heavy being a cover up, hopefully not as see through as the home one. The thing that I dislike is the thick white surround on the badge, which I think looks awful- why can't we just have the, er, badge?

Because its cheaper to do it this way unfortunately. I agree completely.

Agree with this. There’s no other white in the kit so the white outline on the badge looks daft. It would look better if that dark blue in the V-neck was white.

Saw it in person yesterday at the shields match. Looks quite nice actually. Home one still horrific but thr away one is worth buying.

The kids versions of both kits look ok. The sponsor plate is rancid, and I feel a bit bad saying that because it’s a great cause.

Given the shirts are based on a template, I don’t see why the club couldn’t have turned around as soon as Betdaq pulled out - and they’d seen the shirt with the sticker over - and said, nope, not having those, do the new sponsor from scratch.
Betdaq will have broken the terms of the contract by changing what they wanted printed on the shirts. The club will be losing revenue as people don't want to buy the kits. Betdaq surely would have been liable to foot the bill for a reproduction or at the very least to cover the estimated loss of earning to the club.

I for one, am not too bothered about how the kit looks. I think a few grown men get far too worked up over it. But in a situation like this where the sponsor, has at the last minute, as far can tell replaced their logo with a charity in a marketing ploy. And that has a diverse effect on one of the clubs biggest forms of revenue. It's not about an iron on plate looking crap or not.

The club must think long term though. Keep Betdaq (who have already said they won't support you any more) happy or offer a good product to your long term and invaluable supporter base?

Sad that let the company get away with such nonsense.

Unsure how Charlton have got a kit without a horrific stuck on sponsor
Hummel don't have as many teams so probably don't need to make their clubs kits months in advance. Either that or they knew that it would have an adverse effect on sales and decided to do a rerun.

Hummel are going through a bit of a rebrand so probably don't want to be labeled as a brand who are so cheap they just iron over the previous sponsor.

Adidas couldn't care less as it's very unlikely to hurt their core brand image outside of Sunderland.

What? The former regeme agreed to the amateurish ironing of the red band?
One of my kids friends stay over during the week. He has last season's Juventus and I noticed that their sponsor is the same as ours. It looks like a black striker on the the shirt. It must be an Adidas thing. The same with the plain back.

As for the kits being selected in a year advance. That's bollocks. If that's the case they we would know who is our new kit manufacturers are now.

Smaller brands seem to be better. I'm hoping we get someone like Hummel or Macron next season. Even if Macron would be admitting that we are a League One club because no one wears Macron trainers.

Someone on here genuinely said that.
