Yesterday’s atmosphere had a totally different feel to a normal Eng test or odi... been to a few England games at CLS and it’s normally one big piss up but it wasn’t for this one...we got in the Wicket gate for 10am after sorting out tickets and it was virtually empty ...bars were a doddle to get served in cos they were quiet... was a lot of people not just from Eng or NZ but from all ower the gaff attending.. loads of Asians and especially Indian fans... had a good vibe about it .. some arsehole Yorkshire fans but they were in the minority .. brilliant day out in the sun and a cracking result for England
Any true Yorkshire fan would have been at Scarborough yesterday.

Was a superb day yesterday, people from all over the world and a great feel to the place. As a Chester lad I still get a warm buzz at times when I think that a vital world cup game, England involved too is getting played out on the same grass (I know for any pedants) I used to play football on.

The North East is a beautiful place when the weather plays along, was lovely talking to a few Kiwi's yesterday who commented on how amazing C-L-S and Durham as a whole was, nothing like they expected from the UK and a lot like home.
Not sure what they expected mind. Thought England was well known for rolling green hills like those around CLS and the county of Durham

and not many glaciers, fjords, mountains, volcanos and earthquakes either ... maybe it was the number of sheep that swung it.

Afghan chase was on!.....but Ikram 86 (great knock from the young lad) and Najibullah 31 both out in quick succession. 189-2 to 194-4 chasing 312.
A shame.
