He’s motivated by money as are 99% of blokes as is Mike Ashley Rafa has no loyalty to Newcastle just his wallet. Just like Mike Ashley has no loyalty to Newcastle just Mike Ashley’s wallet
It's not money that is the reason why he's left as he's worth over £20 million. The money is class but the Mags are forgetting his past management of Liverpool, Napoli and Real Madrid building up his riches along with his millions he recently got from NUFC. He's got out when he can and kept his reputation intact and could potentially go somewhere people won't give a fuck on such as scale as he had at the Mags and the global stage.

He wouldn't have stayed at NUFC even for £12 million a year as the expectations from the fans was too much and in time he'd be found out. It was clear to see as he was constantly coming out with excuses in TV interviews when they weren't winning as he knew the job (or project) of doing something of note was an impossible task long term and he even came out with his miracle comment earlier this season.

For me, he got lucky at the Mags as there were times it was shit for them and they had a real threat of relegation. Last season they were 2 points above relegation come March but a 4 game win helped get them out of it and they finished a 'misleading' 10th so all the shite was forgotten. This last season, they started shite with no win until their 11th game and 5 home defeats in a row. It was only the 3 wins out of 4 end of feb/march, part of a decent 8 game 16 points spell, that pulled them away again along with the Man City/Everton wins papering over the cracks.

Basically it was a few winning spells that saved them (a few due to the opposition playing shite or having an off day such as Everton/Man City!) rather than a Rafa masterclass over the 2 seasons yet they are going on like he's done a Cloughie or summit!

Is Rondon going to be there next season to save them? If not and they don't get bought out and left with limited funds (along with a bog standard manager) then if they don't get spawny and get yet another goalscorer (something we fuck up regularly) then I see then struggling and imploding next season like we've done in the past ;)

Now, I’ve read a few of your posts and you appear literate

Is it not absolutely obvious that Benitez has been negotiating with this Chinese club, whilst under contract and declaring love of nufc?
It seems pretty obvious to me.
Nobody in their right mind is going to up sticks at the drop of a hat to go to a country they're absolutely not familiar with, let alone to a footballing set up that is going to reap satisfaction.
I've been told about Rafa's integrity and everything else in his favour. The man could literally do not wrong in some people's eyes.

I think this more than proves that money is as much his motivation as anything.
Picture the potential scene for the media.
Interviewer: Rafa, you chose Chinese club Dalian Yifang. What made you choose them?
Rafa: I could clearly see their potential and the owner assured me I'd have full control to bring in players to challenge for all trophies.
Interviewer: So it's got nothing to do with the 86 squillion a season wages on offer?
Rafa: To be honest I didn't think about the wages, I just seen a totally different challenge.
Interviewer: So you would still manage them if they offered you 6 million a season, right?
Rafa: (looking sheepish and rubbing the front of his shoe up the back of his trouser leg to shine it, with a face as red as a fully ashamed beetroot)...Ermmm, of course (cough) I (cough)....next question.

And blah blah blah.
Ashley didn't share his vision?
What's his vision?
We can all have a vision for anything, but if our vision depends on someone else's bank account to have a go at that vision, with the only downside to failure being the sack with compensation, then things would need to be very carefully thought over.

Fair points well made. Let’s hope we get a chance to play each other in about a years time ;)

The Mag politician is off on one again (not so much) after hearing just Rafa's side of the story!

chi onwurah on Twitter

As I said earlier, I expect NUFC to reply to Rafa's statement as I don't think they'll just ignore it.

Don’t do Twitter so haven’t a clue about what she whines on about, but I would like to think that she’s up in arms about Newcastle possibly being taken over by awab men due to their reputations for human rights abuse.

What a load of waffle about nothing.
Within 24 hours of mourning, he gets cheered up with a £12 million contract

The bloke is a fraud, he’s been planning this for months. No way a deal like that has come about since Sunday

It's not just all about the money as he's rich as fuck already as he's got over £20 million in the coffers man!

He's got out when he could with his reputation intact due to the deluded wanting more than he could ever deliver in time (even if he was given £100 million to spend again). He's now potentially going somewhere without the obsession in his later years as he's had enough of the limelight and fan expectations. He even came out with the miracle shite early this season to blinker most of the fans into thinking just staying up was a great feat from him.

Anything Rafa says about Newcastle now is to keep the 'great manager myth bubble' inflated by saying that he loves the place and fans etc. It's the usual crap from any manager/player as they praise the fans, the noise/atmosphere etc and how the fans back them even when times are bad and it deflects some of the criticism. Yet watching his interviews he seemed to constantly be coming out with excuses to save his arse when they got beat yet it was different when they won I might be making this bit up as I didn't watch them all haha
Fuck me, talk about trying to protect the myth! I see the usual hands were tied comments, blaming everyone but himself, wanted to stay and the obligatory "fans are class" arse licking
