Barnsley also seem to have a knack of picking players up and selling for profit. I certainly wouldn't be against utilising the loan market and keeping our powder dry for next summer should we go up.

We have a significant percentage of fans who still think the only answer is to throw unnecessarily large amounts of money around. It's the one legacy of Short the owners can't get rid of.

And yet the players who have done the business for us over the years were probably bought for modest amounts.

You need to be extremely f***ing good with player recruitment, whilst spending next to nothing whilst getting promoted twice.

Saying that spending a bit of money won't give you a much better chance of going up, is daft, because your odds of going up improve if you spend

I am not expecting world class players we are in league one what I do expect is better quality players not out of contract freebies who add fuck all to last season average shite

Spending the money wasn't the problem with Short it was how it was spent. We will need to spend significant money if we aspirations of getting back to where we belong.

Hudderfield, Norwich, Sheffield United, Burnley and others didn't. And even less is needed to get out of League 1. Who is a far more important question than how much.
 
Let Donald do his job with any investment & recruitment - judge him when the window closes
