Not really. Other clubs in the division tend to have a semblance of ambition. Look at the money Bournemouth have thrown around. Add that to the likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham, etc.

Everton have spent £200m in the last couple of years too. Granted they sit in that grey area between 6th and the rest, mind.

You can have ambition and incremental progression with relatively moderate spending. Establishing yourself in the division then looking to kick on. You have to help yourself though by developing the academy and training ground to give you a chance.

Oh and a decent manager helps, too. Again not expecting agreement but we had that and more before the events of this week imo.
Newcastle spent 130 million so not a million miles away from what Everton spent

From completely different bases though tbf. One was on the back of a relegation and a significant turnover of players and the other is for incremental gain up the table.

Blarn.

How many times have Everton been relegated?

Not really as the Newcastle side that got relegated had around 90m spent on it and was really a mid to lower team that was badly managed, you weren't at a bad starting point.

Prroved your point?

So you are demanding to be alongside a much bigger club?

These filters posts from Newcastle fans get passed through. Go back a few pages where I state that these aren’t ultimate examples to follow.

haway mate, he loved them, he got them, what more do you want
Personally with a manager of that pedigree the ability to keep them up from a position that was the strongest of the 4 relegation rivals. A good cup run and a team that could win at least one league game of its opening ten
