To be fair, Hales was a f***ing idiot. He put himself in the situation - the media just reported it. Let's not diminish Hales of blame.

Yep, agreed.

No-one had an issue when he was called in over Denley as cover. It's only become an issue because Roy is injured.

Don't disagree mate. His innings against Surrey on the 2017 ODC final is the best white ball innings I've ever seen. He's a match winner.

But the fact he's not here winning games for England is entirely his own fault. I'll never get on my high horse about doing drugs, but on the eve of a world cup, you can't be doing that shit.

Might as well open with a bowler. Even Archer and Wood outscored Vince today and against Sri Lanka. Then have the extra bowling option and tell them to slog at the start and get us a flyer. Absolutely disgraceful selection Vince

I would have Stokes to come in when Roots out. Seems the only other player who can play the anchor role well

If we lost Root and Stokes early on we’d be absolutely fucked though, how about Woakes at 3 if Root has to open and play Plunkett

Curran higher up and root opening
The other Root
Bell-Drummond
Gubbins
Foakes
Northeast
Malan
Godleman

Take your pick. Or try some of the up and coming kids - need to blood them sometime. But no we’d rather just go around the same merry go round with pointless players like Vince (Same will happen in the Ashes, Jennings, Vince, Ballance will all be back in contention)
