What’s going on locally like, marra?
Wasn’t there the story about fire services being dangerously under staffed in the area that literally broke yesterday? I haven’t seen today’s Chronicle front page, but I can nearly guarantee that they didn’t put as much effort into designing an eye catching and dramatic front page like they have for tomorrow.

There’s also plenty of major national stories that have major implications locally atm. Just seems to add to the cringe to go full hog on this story considering everything else going on.

What do you honestly think will sell more papers in predominantly the Newcastle Area? Understaffed fire services or a report on the Newcastle United manager leaving?

The national papers are there to cover the national news.

I know it’s going to be a front page story, just think the dramatic page design is a bit bloody cringeworthy, especially at this time.

And aye, nationals are there to cover national stories, but my point was that it might not be a good time to be so f***ing dramatic about football when there are far, far more important things going on in the country.

Not a massive deal, but the Chronicle come through with cringeworthy football front pages regularly.

Metros were off today iirc

That’s ‘olds’ though. They’re off every day.

The front page is there to create a headline, to attract attention and drive that impulse to buy. It looks like it’s done it’s job on you by way of grabbing your attention for starters.

Don’t get me wrong, The Chronicle is a journalistic abomination but you can’t blame them for running with this story as a headline.
