As hilarious as it is the meltdown from the Mags is f***ing bizarre. They're like a cult when it comes to Benitez and the sad thing is a lot of them will be absolutely gutted if his replacement is a lesser 'name' and goes onto do a better job.

He did a decent job there and no more than that. Finishing 10th and 13th is nothing like the miracle that the Mags, Benitez and his sycophantic mates in the media are making it out to be.

There will be mags hoping the new manager fails, so they can simply suck off Rafa again.

If this takeover goes through, and they appoint someone like Jose, they'll not give a toss about him anymore.

That’s what I said to a mag at work today. I said that if a new manager comes in that isn’t a Gucci name and gets them 5th, their argument will be ‘if this bloke got us 5th Rafa would have won us the league’. They’re really weird when it comes to the bloke.
