‘It’s been a pleasure’

What exactly has been a pleasure? They were relegated about 3 month after he came in, spent a fortune (fuck off anyone mentioning net spend) to come back up, and since then has set them up playing negative, turgid football, finishing in mid-lower table and has surrendered in the cups.

If this was someone like Pardew who’d been in charge they’d have been down B&M bulk buying bedsheets months ago.
That summer in the champ they set a transfer sum record and the highest wage bill record

Not even the next tier down either, managers such as Silva, Espiroto Santo or Gracia.

He's more at the level of Dyche, Hughton and Hodgson these days.

I'm not so sure. I'd say he's in the second group, though on the wane as the ultra defensive tactics of the early 21st century don't generally win the big prizes these days.

I think that's going a bit far. His squad might be in around the same level, but he's a better manager than a lot of people on here seem to want to give him credit for. I'd take Benitez over the lot of them.

I think the big thing about Benitez's next move is that he knows he needs to get back to winning trophies, and without significant investment that doesn't look too likely at Newcastle.

This is true.

To be honest, I thought they'd have tired of him by now, but they've really taken to him.

He isn't like - he's miles behind the likes of Guardiola, Klopp, Allegri, Zidane and Pochettino

He is the only manager in history to have won the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. ...

But he's not as good as Poch, this place man.

I'm a staunch mackem, but saying he isnt a good manager is just daft.

He’s had his day and football has moved on now. Maybe that is a more accurate assessment
