Cricket World Cup 2019

That's what everybody said in the test matches last year, but iirc they swung us out at Trent Bridge and Moeen ragged through them at Hampshire.

Their pacebowlers are better than their spinners. Aye, they'd want to avoid a road against us - anyone would. But the best way to beat England imo remains a fast, pacy deck. We have good pacemen, but so do they. Think our spinners are maybe better than theirs - and their batsmen didn't look too clever against it yesterday.

Either way, India's seam attack should not be underestimated. It's literally ranked best in the world in ODIs.

We'll beat Australia and they'll lose to New Zealand. Bookmark it.

I wasn’t commenting from a bowling point of view, more from a batting. I think Kohli and co would rather bat against us on a spinning pitch than a seaming pitch, as they’d out bat us on it without necessarily out bowling us. By that I mean we’d be much more likely to collapse than they would on that pitch

I think we're more likely to collapse on any pitch tbh. We've got the jitters, badly. A road would help, but we need to win a tight game against one of these big three teams. No use just blasting them off the park, we need a tight run chase win to really overcome our nerves.

We've only had 1 bad batting performance in the whole tournament, before that we were regularly getting over 300

People going way over the top

We batted well against Pakistan for example

I am nervous and Sri Lanka was poor, but lets not get carried away

In what world are rashid and ali better than chahal and yadav??

Its amazing we managed to get number 1 in the world and win 10 series in a row with all the shite players we have

Anyone abroad is better than any of our lads to you

Maybe because Rashid took 42 ODI wickets last year?

Because he is Indian?

You are allowed your opinions, but the idea you find it unbelievable that people rate some of our players who have starred for consistently the best side in the world over the last 2 years is strange

Its perfectly sane logic you know

I rate them all, but its not "out of this world" that someone might see Rashid as the best ODI spinner, as he has taken the most since the last world cup.

On a road batting first I fancy us every time, however on a slowish wicket with a bit turn I have absolutely no faith in team to be able to win.

I do against the Aussies mind

I still think the Sri Lanka thing wasn't as bad as people think, I mean in terms of the pitch, if you look at the dismisalls

Bairstow 1st baller, which does happen, Buttler yorked, Root down the leg side etc

Yes its poor batting, but it was only the lower order really, Ali, Woakes, Rashid etc who didn't bat like they should have IMO

Root and Stokes played very well and never looked in danger

I just not sure it was remotely the same as the Pakisan Champions trophy game personally, just getting lumped in with it. It was just bad performance, those dismissals could have happened on any pitch.

Not like they all got out playing big shots, only a couple

We have also won on different pitches all around the world over the last few years too

You just seem not to rate many of our players like, thats all, the impression I get, not as highly as others from abroad.

You wont find many posts on here of me slagging our ODI team off. I think theyre class

I also think there are better player out there than some of ours but that doesnt mean i i think theyre shite

As always youre making stuff up to support your argument

I was exaggerating to make a point, fair play, just don't see you hand out much praise, when quick to give it for others. I do think that you are quick to jump on people who rate players highly than others, we have been number one for ages for a reason like, they've been out performing so called bigger names for a while IMO

Today’s first bets to ignore:
Bangladesh to score over 290 (6/4)
Shakib Al Hasan top Bangers bat (11/4)
Mujeeb ur Rahman top Afghan Bowler (7/2)

Aye, Pakistan wasn't too bad in terms of the total, but they wilted under pressure.

And they were pretty wobbly against the Saffers too, if you ask me - apart from Stokes, who really marshalled that to a respectable figure.

Truth is, Stokes-aside, the batsman are not doing well when pressure is applied by wickets.

My broader point is that I wonder if we should be thinking of batting first, because our bowlers are defending targets quite well - their only bad performance came in the first innings.

must win tomorrow to give ourselves the best chance of making semis, if new Zealand beat Pakistan we will need 9 points at least to get through.
If Pakistan win, we will need at least 11 points to guarantee semis, needing to win 2 out of 3 :(
