If benitez goes I feel sorry for the new manager as he has no chance of keeping the mags up as benitez is world class and performed miracles to keep the up apparently, so what chance has a so called normal manager got #newmanagernochance

I still think he will sign a new deal, He’s a genius at this sort of thing. He’ll be hoping that Ashley gives him new improved terms within the last week of negotiations.

I think the China “contract offer” was a deliberate leak (as always from Benitez), that Newcastle aren’t buying into and are waiting for Benitez to blink first.

Just been reading about transfers. Apparently you can't sign players when a club is going through a takeover process. Anyone else know of this rule? Could this be the reason why we aren't signing anyone. I know SD has said it doesn't have any impact but perhaps they are talking to players/agents with deals lined up. Once the takeover is announced we should see players signed?
Don't know the rules, but Prehab said on another thread earlier in the week that 3 deals were done for players and he had spoken to one of them. So it could be they need to wait until everything is finalised re: the new investor's, before any announcement.

Absolutely nailed on to stay.

Nice few leaks to press about other offers, lack of transfer funds, he will take it to the wire, re-sign and be hailed a hero
This.
He will sign at the last minute all because of tbe love of the fans. He will have 'tried' to get more funds but couldn't and they will have to accept (and blame the owner) as they will face a relegation battle in the season ahead.
