Cricket World Cup 2019

the lineup is so brutal and talented

Roy, Bairstow, Morgan, Buttler, Stokes combined with the genius of Root

then you still have lower order hitters like Ali, Plunkett, Archer

its just chaos when we get it right, never seen a lineup like it

It’s simply the best one day side we have ever had by a country mile.

Brilliant to watch as well, yet still take some stick in some places

Great cameo. Hopefully it kick starts his form as we need him with bat and ball.

I fancy him at opener if Roy is stuffed for the tournament.

It's where he's batted most of his first class career and he's done it a fair few times for England too. It's a role he knows and he's much better than bloody James Vince.

We'd be able to keep all our seam attack on the pitch then too - and the variety will be very useful for Eoin later on.

I'd go further.

If it wins this tournament it will rightly be hailed as the greatest ODI side ever. It is taking the game to another dimension - and just needs the trophy as the cherry on the cake.

Big if like. But it's Brazil 1970 stuff.

Got called bottlers on here a quarter of the way through the Pakistan game!

"Same old England"

Little side note, great that Ali got some runs there, looked totally relaxed, maybe the break has done him good

Pressure on Vince to get runs, Ali or Stokes could easy open the innings if not, Stokes is actually fair better against the new ball than the older one

Its a fair point like you make

Even the Aussie's side that used to win were more functiomal weren't they

Over a 10 match series England would beat India comfortably IMO, in a one off game though its 50/50

I would love to win the world cup but the idea that we have to win it to justify the work we have put into it is bollocks, I enjoy watching the ODIs almost as much as the tests now, its class to watch and will continue longer after the WC
