Great performance by the the Bangles but fuck me the West Indies are absolutely shocking.

Hope and Gayle clueless first up, and then picking five bowlers who do almost the same job at the same pace is never going to work at this level. Most of them only look interested in hitting sixes or bowling bouncers, if that’s not working for them then they don’t want to know.

I think they've lost interest after realising they're unlikely to qualify, in addition to only having plan A with regard to both batting and bowling. I'm amazed that Gayle's part time spin was the only option when their seamers weren't working. Not sure why Ashley Nurse (the only spinner in the squad) doesn't get at least some sort of look in. Wouldn't surprise me if they lost the next three and then scored 450+ (if they bat first) against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh look likely to be the only side who can challenge the top 4 now but they would need to beat either the Aussies or India and hope for one of the top 4 to fall apart or the weather to intervene a lot (in matches other than theirs).

I honestly gave the windies a chance leading into it after seeing there line up :lol:

Problems with the Windies, apart from them carrying a few players who aren't mobile, is they are just too one dimensional

No spin, not even mystery spin, now smart bowlers who can assess the pitch and adapt, its just run in and hit the deck hard

Don't think its lack of effort

I thought they had turned a bit of a corner but the demands of this tournament seem to have exposed them somewhat.
Would love to know what the likes of Lara, Haynes, Chanderpaul, Ambrose, Walsh, Hooper, Sarwan, Adams, Simmonds, Benjamin thought of these lot.... and the last 10 years

Let alone what the lads in their team in the 70s, 80s made of it.

Well, Courtney Walsh had them sussed today as bowling coach for Bangladesh - he must have very mixed feelings.

It's bad enough as an outsider just wanting them to do well. Must be infuriating for their fans from the region

Pakistan the same.

But I’m not sure what’s worse: supporting them or England? WI and Pakistan have both won a world t20 AND Champions Trophy fairly recently, not to mention World Cup successes in the past.

I love watching them - hope the match is not rained off tomorrow. I hate being this optimistic about their chances - it is bad enough being let down by all things football!
Rain chance from 3pm

Afghans will bat anyway , can’t see it lasting much longer than that time in any case

Yeah, I heard him and he was furious. Interesting point he made about Walsh working as bowling coach for Bangladesh when the Windies haven't even approached him over the years. Sounds as if its down to cricket politics over there.

What about? General ineptitude they displayed today? Or about Walsh?

Also: can I note the irony that I haven’t found the cricket at either of my UK hotels yet, after getting every match in the US...? Shame/shameful.
