They have to - it's a fundamental part of the game. It takes away one of the ways to get a free hit if they don't.

Pretty sure I've seen some front-foot no-balls called in the games yesterday and today.

Yep, I saw that too. As Brandon mentioned, there is one form of the game where the umpires rely on the TV umpire, just cant remember which form it is.
