I don't want him sacked mate, I think he just let the pressure get to him a bit and I dare say it would have happened to most young managers coming to a club like ours....even Jose suffered from the pressures of not losing at Man Utd.

I'm hoping now, after a season in charge he can push on, he set himself the target of promotion and he will be annoyed with himself looking back over the season.
 


Whatever happens next season Ross has to get the team playing much more positively.

A sensible 442 or if he has to play 451 we have to get much more support to the 1 striker. Honeyman (who has many attributes) is not a no 10.

Last season was painfull to watch and sadly Ross never learned and thats what worries me about him.

However, clean slate from July but he has to raise his game and make football enjoyable to watch.

What is Ross going to do differently to ensure the most expensive financial outlay in the history of the 3rd division is going to score a goal or two ?

You obviously haven’t been paying attention...

...seriously though I think he’ll come good. Just needs a steady supply of chances. One of the key areas to improve is out wide. Well that and centre half...and full back...and centre midfield.

1. Virtually undroppable- is that you saying he’s that good we can’t drop him?2 missing- a lot of the players have gone missing but he really does care about this club I believe. I don’t think he would leave for a higher division club unless forced. We call Chris Maguire King and he is better as an impact sub. 3 drawfism is not nice. 4 worst captain- taken us to 2 cup finals so why his he the worst?5 continue???

His remit is to finish 45th or 46th out of 92 clubs in the football league. Last season he finished 48th. I mean 48th. Somewhere between 21st and 26th after this season seems a long way off but it really should not be the case. However if he shuts up shop at 1 nowt up against some of the teams we will be facing then he shouldn't be at the helm,simple as.
 
I don't see how he will do it, he's a one route system manager, no plan B or experimental formula in him has Jack, lets see what happens the coming campaign.

Exactly the same thing as in being negative as fuck, shitting ourselves when 1-0 up and drawing every game 1-1???

Changing the number of tiny one paced midfielders on the pitch at any one time isn’t really a tactical master stroke mate.

every time I can remember us playing 442 in the last 7 years or so we've been terrible. Including this season - Coventry being the obvious example. remember on wms pod Grigg saying he was used to playing in 4321 - it's the year 2019 - 442 is not the answer to suddenly score more goals. you'd almost think all these highly trained and qualified managers would perhaps know this

Apparently he played really well with Nick Powell, who created chances for him and was a quality player at both levels and looking likely to maybe join Celtic, Newcastle, Stoke or someone else at the moment. Of course his record more than stands up without Powell at this level and he also scored more goals in his two spells in the Championship than anyone else with Wigan in his time there, so his record does stand up to scrutiny regardless , but yeah it does seem to have been a bit of an afterthought maybe.

However bringing him in without a real plan to address the problems already here, seemingly other than having him play on the last defender. Without any kind of foil for him and when he's injured, for me, seemed to sum it up as a pretty lazy signing. It seemed almost Bruce like in that Ross just expected him to score without realising he had to get everything into place. I mean yeah, most of us probably did, but we weren't staking our jobs and £3m on it.

My real worry is that JR appeared not to be learning game to game this past season. Be that the caliber of players, formations or sticking with players who are either not good enough for this division, players were obviously injured or had lost confidence. As the manager surely he has more statistical game analysis available, it does not take skill to analyse players or what is going wrong, time and time again the football was woeful and following the same pattern week in, week out. League One is a step up from the Scottish league St. Mirren played in, so the manager has a season behind him to learn. I do hope we have another clear out, we buy early, and we develop an attacking mentality for the coming season. Only then can I see everyone getting on board with the manager.

No the point the lad was making was that whichever of Ross’s-formations for which there were 5... none worked... zero absolutely nothing Ross did worked.
