Can’t believe England lost today.
It’s ok as India will beat Pakistan, but was hoping for an England / India double v Pakistan.

Should definitely have chose to bat first.
Once Root and Buttler we’re out you knew the game was over.

Buttler was the only one capable of reaching the boundary. Criminal Root and Buttler gave their wickets away so close to each other
 
Loads of games to go, and everything still very much in England's own hands, but you have to wonder about the bowling. Giving up 350 to Pakistan every time out has to raise some question marks.

England hardly ever lose in this format and on the rare occasions they do its cos 'they are arrogant as fuck' or 'bottlers'. I don't get it like - they all seem pretty level headed cricketers to me but not good enough to win every single game they ever play.

Exactly. Pakistan played well today and England were just below par. No problem with that, it's probably a good thing for the tournament that Pakistan are alive again and England have had an early setback

Well, we obviously se things differently. I would put today’s massive ubprofessionalism in the field and with the ball down to arrogance - either an overconfidence of their own ability of an underestimation of Pakistan’s quality.

What would you put it down to?

We’re number 1 in the world for a reason, but we’re still the nation that has been in the end of some horrific upsets in the modern era.

I worry that such complacency will ultimately bite us in the arse in this tournament - but I stress that is why I believe today could be good for us in the long run.

After the way Pakistan got crushed in their first game I can see why put them in first. If the bowling attack had got it right (and a bit of luck) then would only had to chase high 200s not a World Cup record.

Anyway 6 wins should be enough to qualify for the Semis I think. India and Australia are the other 2 sides who I think will beat England. Pre World Cup I thought England would win 7 of their games.
