Jordan Henderson

Good on the lad, he’s a proud Sunderland supporter and that video is a proper tearjerker. Raw emotion you don’t see much of on the field.

Their fans don’t deserve him by the way. The amount of f***ing stick he gets on an off day is absurd.

I really don't want to stop this Henderson Appreciation Society as it is lovely and please keep it going but one thing I want to bring to your attention.

He plays for LIVERPOOL. He does not represent Sunderland anymore. Neither the club nor the city. That now is only where he just happened to be born in. That is where it begins and ends for me. Everything else about Jordan is Liverpool.

Sometimes I think Sunderland fans put too much emphasis on the fact a player was born in the city. Why?

Have you learned how to put petrol in your car when the fuel light comes on yet?

Like most football fans, they are fickle as fuck.

There were plenty on radio phone ins when they weren't winning every week saying "he's not worthy of a Liverpool shirt, we should be signing Barcelona's best players"

We usually have Radio 5 on when travelling back from away games and often turn it off due to shite spouted by the "fans"

Just out of interest, as i do not know the answer, who is Barcelona's best player in that role?

Is he any better than Henderson?

That role is far from glamourous, will seldom gain the headlines, and requires a player with a totally unselfish character however, in most winning sides, is pivotal in the success of the group.

When a team has someone who can master that role they are the obvious choice of captain. Now he is a European Cup winner i am prepared to support a purchase by Newcastle.

You’re one boring wanker.

I work in Middlesbrough. Am I allowed to support Sunderland and to go back into The city and the area?

Well he does represent the city since he was born and raised here. He also represents the Sunderland academy as that is where he learned his trade to become good enough to captain a side to the champions league trophy. Hes a great role model and inspiration to all the lads in the academy today. Hes just a normal lad from Farra, and he lifted the champions league trophy last night. Hes an inspiration to every young (and old) lad and lass in the city

Always looked a great player and enjoyed watching him play. Seems like a decent lad and great seeing how he has progressed with club and country. Pleased for him and his family.

Great Twitter post that, and there's clearly huge respect for the lad from fans of many clubs including Liverpool's rivals.

Sadly I noticed 1 poster saying "it should have been Milner lifting it" and a Mag saying " from a close family many of whom support ToonArmy". It has to be about them every time.
