Have you listened to the interview? His comment about the fans (albeit stupid) was in response to the interviewer asking about the size of club in league 1. He then went on to say the players didn't perform, the overall performance was poor and that the management have to take responsibility, including himself.

You’re wasting your time mate

It's not the quite bit what's piss people off pal. It's the little dig where sold more tickets and there were louder. Thought both sets of fans were poor.

Exactly. I've never known a someone in a high position of a club start talking about tickets not being sold immediately after a game like that. Particularly after telling the world how amazing the fanbase is all season.

It's just a bit odd.

We all know the comment about selling more tickets was stupid, but I'd not disagree that Charlton were louder. He also did that interview not long after the match and he was still raw, he spoke like it hurt (and not like it hurt his bank balance).

Some have openly stated that they haven't listened to the interview, yet still have a go at Methven.
Too many people getting a bit precious

Just don't like the bloke. He talks shit most of the time really. To say Charlton is a big club because they been in the prem for couple of years and they sold more tickets for a one of game against us. Prick for me

They were louder because of 1 song man. They came to the game upbeat, team inform blah blah. Deep down nobody was looking forward to the game. I enjoyed Saturday night better. It's just not fun watching us at the minute

I just hope people remember this

The players get paid to give us something. We give them money to get them going.
But being realistic that isn’t how it works is it. We both know working atmosphere makes a huge difference regardless of salary.

Of course. He was rude in cuttng off the host then went on a small tirade the gist of which was a pop at the fans - how many were there and their expectations. Utter nob, thinking he's like the Simon Cowell of Sunderland but with absolutely no skin in the game and fish out of water.

Says Charlton have spent much of the last 20/30 years in the Premier League.

They've spent 8 of the last 30 seasons in the top flight and haven't been in it for 12 years!

Good grief

It’s been massively blown out of proportion what he said but it’s not really a shock. He was basically saying we had no divine right to go up over a club like Charlton.
