Winning goal should have been disallowed

Stop worrying about the winning goal, McGuire failing to track his man for their equalizer was criminal......While people want to blame Ross, what on earth do you do when sombody we know to be a quality professional footballer like McGuire fails to do the absolute basics

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the Championship clubs had a say in how this game went to be honest. Let’s face it who is going to be the bigger threat to them next season, us or little old Charlton?

Any Championship club would much rather have Charlton, Bransley and Luton up as cannon fodder than genuine title contenders like us.
Yes, you really proved that last season in the championship!
And this season in League one too !

Just accept it - you didn't go up cos you didn't deserve to , and before you say it , yes, just like Boro didn't deserve to go up

If it happened to Boro what happened to us your lot would probably be looking for litigation knowing what the Smoggies are like.
Nothing 'happened' to Sunderland though, did it?
You failed to go up automatically, then were beaten in the play-offs.
It's called football/life.

What!!

So the game wasn’t decided by Charlton and Sunderland.

The championship clubs decided it:lol::lol:

Jesus Christ man!

And what makes you think we would have been genuine title contenders if we had got promoted

Based on what exactly?

Player clearly hinders Oviedo quite intentionally and severely. Both arms around him, doesn’t allow Him to jump then follows through into his back. It’s not even debatable. It was a free kick. Goal should never have stood in a million years. Players appealing before ball even reached the head of their player. Another massive refereeing blunder.

Their player is climbing all over Oviedo and he is not able to jump allowing the Second Charlton player a clear vision of the flight of the ball to get his head on it. The move started with a free kick against Ozturk for putting arms on their player and any consistency would have resulted in a free kick to Oviedo.

Oviedo was furious .

I dont buy the argument we were just not good enough on the day, as both teams were nervous and we edged, possession, shots, corners and shots on target. We did not deserve to lose that game.

We had not a single shot in the second half. We had one from Leadbitter all game. We deserved nowt.

Makes no odds. Ref dropped a massive bollock. In the 15 minutes before the “goal” we showed so much more intent than they did. We were the stronger side second half...they looked knackered. I can for the life of me understand why more wasn’t made of this.

That's not entirely true. We had one that limped through to their keeper and a couple that flew miles high and wide, and Grigg had a great chance from an Oviedo cross but bottled the chance to head at goal for some reason.

They were just as bad as us tbf and created next to fk all themselves.

So you think a manager can’t be blamed if his players don’t track back?

Are you serious? You think a professional footballer with the experience of McGuire should need to be told to not let the man he is marking run in to the back stick for a tap in while he stands watching him 5 yards away. Haway man, it would be as ridiculous as saying, "listen lads, when you pass the ball pass it to our players not theirs"......Its absolute f***ing basics and to a footballer should be like breathing; you dont need telling to remember to breath :lol::lol::lol:

You buy players and coach players into a collective unit that you trust. If players in your team in games as crucial as that are failing to go with runners or turning their backs on short free kicks that lead to goals, the only ridiculous thing is that you can give the manager a free pass on stuff like that.

Ref let Charlton away with murder, The elbow by Pratley on O’Nein was blatant

TBH, it looked a lot worse when i watched it on TV than in real time (even though it was reckless/aggresive and was potentially deserving of a red card).

We didn't create a chance all match. We deserved fuck all from the game.

Only GL's daisycutter shortly after the OG, which brought a good save from the keeper.
Other than that, we put little/no pressure on the Charlton goal.
The game was there for the taking, but we came up short
Again

Exactly. Cost us promotion that has and with Ross in charge who knows how long we’ll be down here.

We should be looking at litigation or doing what I suggested previously and petitioning the football league to promote us instead of Bransley. There was hardly any points between both clubs and with our fan base and budget we will be much more productive for finances in the championship so it makes sense, as much as the purists want to shout it down.
