TBH Muffin was the one calling anyone who dare be critical of the way we were playing. Names were cowards, chicken etc. Wasn't hard to work out how this season was going to pan out

I don't give a fuck what anyone says, but he's being a bellend thereBasically says you can’t say that Sunderland deserve to go up because we are a bigger club than Charlton because on the evidence of Wembley attendance we aren’t as we sold 34k and they sold 40k. Adds to that our fans were quiet in comparison to there’s. Then the rest is just saying we all need to dust ourselves down, it’s been a failure but need to crack on rather than sulk.
Probably said in the heat of the moment but considering we’ve had 2 trips to the other end of the country in a couple of months and Charlton fans didn’t have to leave their own city, that’s an absolutely mental thing to come out with.
He’s not a mag mate. Level whatever criticism you see fit, but not that.muffin mag
It doesn’t come cheap mate.and two semi final games against Portsmouth
He needs to give his f***ing head a shake over that.Just listened to that. Wow. Comes across as a right prick. Saying we're not as big as Charlton because they had 40k fans and we had 34k!!! Unbelievable.
Well other than a few posters Charlie has incredibly managed to unite the SMB![]()
Not sure I necessarily disagree. Maybe a little harsh about numbers but ultimately he’s right about everything else.
Also, people forget he’s also allowed to be annoyed and that just because we have a perception of the club, doesn’t mean everyone shares it.
At the end of the day there’s fuck all we can do now anyway. Push for next season begins now.
For a one off game? What about average attendances if we want to be more accurate?I cant argue with what he said at all. The attendance thing was said because the guy asking the questions said we shouldnt be in this division based on club size, he replied saying well look at Charlton, they brought more so club size doesnt matter. Thats the way i took it.
We need a designated singing section if we get to wembo again like Charlton did so everyone who wants to make a noise can. Was too spread out. Overall though our support this season has been class in numbers but absolutely shite in terms of vocal support except for a few games.
What have us, the fans asked for that wasn’t a realistic expectation? So to sum up this thread, the fans say Charlie shouldn't have a dig: it's hard supporting Sunderland because
(a) the team don't give enough to shout about: recent form and formations and negative tactics have been a big disappointment.
(b) we had two expensive trips to Wembley on the back of a lot of expensive away trips etc and money is tight.
No arguments with any of that.
Charlie says what a lot of people trying to run the club in recent years have said: SAFC fans should keep expectations realistic, rather than propagate a NUFC-style 'entitlement culture'. Other 'big clubs' eg Charlton are also trying to bring back the glory days.
He also said losing out on promotion is bad good news but we need to turn it around quickly and make sure we are in a place to get on and do better next year.
No arguments with that either.
Entitlement culture? We just had our lowest ever finish and broke the average attendance record for the league (i think!). On what planet is promotion from league one an unrealistic expectation? So to sum up this thread, the fans say Charlie shouldn't have a dig: it's hard supporting Sunderland because

I wish. 140 quid for us for both the playoff and the checkatrade.Of course they had more fans. They were a tube ride away-it cost us a tube ride PLUS £60-£80 train ride. I only made the play off final but many made it twice in a few weeks.
