Pretty poor interview all around.

Not sure why a PR guy with a minor stake in the club is talking about footballing issues and how we played.
Pretty poor dig at the fans - though he is right, we were quiet.
And at one point he seems to suggest that everyone involved in the club needs to take a look at themself, including the fans due to 'lack of belief'. Sorry Charlie, it wasn't my lack of belief that lost 21 points from winning positions and two Cup Finals.

These two are beginning to look out of their depth IMO. I'd rather they just kept quiet.

I appreciate that may be because of the blow from Sunday, and equally because he will have been mightily pissed off after the match that his relatively small financial gamble hadn't paid off in terms of the asking price for the club as much as he must have hoped.
 
It’s a disgrace of an interview. The lad interviewing mentioned that club of our size shouldn’t be in this league (he was right) and Methven’s response was that we need to get real with that. I’ve listened to all the early podcasts with them this morning whilst pottering about and he and Donald talk of us as a club and how we shouldn’t be happy with 16th or 17th in the Premier League. Now we have to get real about club size? Having a pop at only having 34k 300 miles down the country for the second time in two months?


If this, building on top of the parasite comment and other barbed digs, is being ‘reconnected’ then Christ knows what it will be like when we are disconnected again.
 
I don't like him, nor do I have any time for him. He is a bit part player in the grand scheme of things and we would be better off without the parasite.

To be fair his exact words were "on sheer size of club it's hard to say that Charlton are the ones who have to stay down", when responding to a question about whether a club our size shouldn't be in league one. I think that was poorly worded, and I think the fans have more than done their bit in terms of turning up and supporting in huge numbers so the dig (which is how it comes across) about the attendance was unnecessary. Pretty much agree with the rest of it like, and on the whole I quite like Methven, but some of his comments here aren't going to endear him. It is a bad time to be interviewed mind, just after we've not gone up. Still, the main issue was the performance, not just at Wembley but for long portions of the season, be interesting to see how they address that, don't think the fans can do much more than we have tbh

Sounded frustrated as we all were/still are.

Poor comparison / dig at the fans for the numbers and no need for this at all; but he has a point on the noise generated.

He's not saying we're not as big as Charlton.
He's responding to a question saying we shouldn't be in league one and he's responding with the facts that Charlton have been a prem team and took 40k (more than us, and I know there are factors involved in that, but it's still true) and they also deserve promotion too.
 
His daft desperate pleas to get people to go to the match are pathetic

Sooner he shuts up the better. Called our supporters parasites. The bloke is f***ing awful
