People get so offended when anyone dares question our support but he’s right. We were quiet on Sunday and we are in this league because we deserve to be. That still hasn’t sunk in with some people, imo.

What I do disagree with is bringing the numbers into it, given the travel and expense, on top of the previous Wembley trip.

This whole fans were quiet thing is galling. Yes we were gifted a goal head start but you can’t fool Sunderland supporters. We could see with our own eyes what was unfolding on the pitch in front of us.

Charlton were quicker, had more movement and ideas than we did and it was just a matter of time before they equalised.

Loads of lads I know were seeing a seventh defeat at Wembley unfold in front of them with a side that seemed to be incapable of rousing itself in a game that had huge significance for the club.

It’s yet another sickening defeat in a long inglorious list that complete deflates you no matter how much you’ve been through it before.

Yet we’ll be back and we’ll be there long after the current ownership make their money and leave.

Given any hint if encouragement there’s few crowds who generate the noise we can, sadly on Sunday despite the best possible start, we cocked it up yet again. It was like watching a tragedy you’ve seen before unfold in slow motion before your eyes and there’s nothing you can do about it.

We spend £6m to Charlton's £0m. Charlton are a basket case of a club but somehow managed to get it right on the pitch. Credit to Charlton and their fans. But to say that they had 40k to our 34k (which is wrong) and use it as some kind of justification to cover up the clubs failure to get promotion. We didn't fail to go up just because of one game, it was over a season.

We got an average gate of 32,000 in League One which is a record. We got 46,000 on Boxing Day which is a record and the highest outside the PL. We brought over 75,000 fans to Wembley this season which is more than Man City brought (according to City fans).

Get this prick and his Grampa Munster hairdo out of this club now. f***ing wanker!

It’s a half hour ish ride on the tube for Charlton fans, cost us probably 5 times more than Charlton fans, that was our 2nd trip to Wembley in 6 weeks he’s lucky that 34k turned up the shite we’ve seen this season
 
He right to question the belief of the fans.
Too many now say they need entertainment to make a noise, and we didn’t sell out Wembley or even hit our average against Portsmouth.
It’s clearly a money thing and that extra funds can’t be found by a large proportion of our fans. But that’s got to be a worry for an owner.
It’s the same thing that our cup attendances fall off a cliff. Put the price up of season tickets and include some cup games like Man Utd and people will know the money they have going out.
