To be frank, I could barely watch the match for blokes going backwards and forwards to the bogs - waste of time!
Fully agree. Five minutes into a game and five minutes before half time is reasonably acceptable but we were up and down all game for folks who had paid bloody good money but could not sit down for more than ten minutes at a time:evil::evil::evil:

Some improvement on the pitch would help.
This. Something good to shout about would really help.

It didn't do Trafalgar this time. I was amazed how quiet the concourse was before the game.

To be fair our songs, albeit loud when we sing, aren't that great. Charlton had more of a party vibe.

I think as a crowed we are more nervous.

This is a lot to do with it imo, we are always just waiting for the team to fuck up. It's almost inevitable that we will, it's just a matter of when and how. All the belief that we can ever win at Wembley has just about evaporated and that shows in the nervousness of our crowd.

It was my first time at Wembley yesterday and at times I was a bit disappointed with our atmosphere. At times it was unlike anything I've ever heard. I actually missed our goal - partly as I was watching the screen and partly because I struggled to concentrate as I couldn't believe the atmosphere. It was weird standing up for me too. I was in 114 and the four of us sang our hearts out and I even tried getting some songs going, but after they scored we were flat until the 75 minute mark. I've noticed it at home too and I think it's because we aren't seeing anything on the pitch to cheer about.

so while charlton fans were bouncing all over the place and singing in unison at 1-1, our fans were complaining about having to stand up to let someone go to the toilet

its just the way of our support nowadays. class numbers, but not many who actually want to chant. thats just the way it is.

i think it will help if we have a combination of a good season on the field, and some how we come out with a couple of new, original chants

the amount of old people, women, kids, boring bastards etc.. means that we are never ever going to have a full end or ground of 30k singing together the way charlton and pompey managed at wembley.

I hate to say it like but the drum helped Charlton and drums seem to contribute massively on the continent. I think the issue is with them is that more often than not it’s just some bellend thudding on it with no actual rhythm over here and is just annoying as fuck. Used correctly they can be good.

Wow
My dad and bro who watched it said the exact opposite.
I'll watch it later.
In the ground it sounded like They did allez allez 3 times, in the period before half time after they scored.
We had several times when the whole of our side were singing various chants.
Not saying we were amazing, but thought we were canny tbh

Think it was.
I normally go ape shit, but didn't really know what was going on and I did jump about a bit, but nowhere near like what I usually do

My missus is not a football fan at all but she enjoyed the game and thought the atmosphere was excellent. Mind, I was belting them out practically in her earhole!

I said the talk on here and twitter was that it was shite and she couldn’t believe those comments. Are we perhaps being too harsh on ourselves? Are we too close to make a rational judgement?!

Charlton don’t get that many at home tbh but managed to corale their singers together from what I could see. We have as many fans amongst our support willing to sing as they had yesterday, surely.

Look around you at your next match: a lot of our crowd are either old; overweight; or infirm (looking) - or a combination.
We need more youngsters to get things going.
And a drum would help too (imho)

Just to add a bit of balance... I'd had a decent scoop before the game and I sang/shouted more in that game than I have all season.

Nowt wrong with having a few beers before the game and I think it's a tiny minority who go too far. I guess that people just notice and comment on them more.

I tried to get people singing yesterday and just got looks of ‘fuck off pal’ all around and gave up trying in the second half.

It's still class at big away games. But not great generally.

What a plank.

The fans are a representation of what's on the pitch.

They bottled automatic limped to playoffs bottled checkatrade and could see the same failed tactics being used by a clueless manager.

But aye critcise the fans

To be fair the fans outside were class, inside shite.
