Mate, you are definitely one of the ones who be completely outraged if the parents protesting were white. What’s your thoughts on this?

I am sure I have read white christians have also been protesting but I guess the clicks won't be had unless "muslamics" isn't in the title.

Fuck them.

Maybes teaching the kids about respect for everyone might help drag their parents backward attitudes into the 21st century.
I totally agree. Having many years experience on working in education and actively promoting equality, and from a personal level, there are many old attitudes that need to be fought against. The attitudes of many of the young people from all backgrounds that I have worked with, has gave me faith in that things are going forward in the right direction. But there is still a long way to go as this issue testifies. It's about giving understanding of identity and also of adult relationships. It's not about promoting sex and leading the youth astray as some claim.

Education arms the individual, it does not disarm then!

I think primary school age is a bit young, kids don't know about sex / relationships / homosexuality because they're more interested in tag, footy and being kids. I think bombarding them with all that stuff is a bit much for their developing minds, my son wouldn't understand and I doubt he'd be the only one.
I have nothing again LGBT folks, but I'd prefer it if my bairn could continue living in an innocent cloud cuckoo land until he goes to secondary school.

We could launch Operation School Shield and bomb the fuckers back to the Stone Age.
f***ing hell Steve :eek::lol:.

Nah, fuck that. I don’t care who it is, if you’re being discriminative against anybody, you should be called out on your bullshit. This walk on by culture is why this sort of thing escalates.
It's not just Muslims as this issue seems to be becoming. I was brought up in a very strict Catholic upbringing and there was the same attitude with regards to the issues of homophobia and such.
On a spiritual level, I believe in God and believe God knows that religion gets many things wrong, such as discrimination and damnation of those who chose a same sex partner. Too many people in religion willing to cast the first stone, and not look at their own behaviour and attitude first.

Shakeel Afsar is the leader of the Anderton Park protests, although he has no children at the school.

He said the school had pulled "the shutters down" on parental engagement and was promoting LGBT lifestyles to children.

He said 600 pupils were kept from school on Monday "to make it crystal clear we will not have our children indoctrinated or participating in any social engineering programmes which undermine our family values by promoting child sexualisation".

This bit is the bizarre bit for me, why is he leading protests when he has no kids at the school?

Aye..pity all the dirty grooming gangs didn't share this philosophy as well.

There’s a few on here wanting to protect children’s innocence as if telling kids some people have two dads or two mums involves discussion of sexual acts of sodomy etc. It’s a common homophobic line to equate the two. When teachers are teaching in primary school about family life and relationships do you think they describe straight sexual acts?

The kids are being taught about loving relationships, friendship, mutual respect and sharing whilst including same sex families in those discussions to educate that they are capable of offering this also (some kids may be being brought up in those families).

When you’re a minority relying on the majority to uphold your rights in the face of people who use intimidation to undermine you and wish to label your perfectly ordinary family life as threatening or corrupting, it’s depressing

How times have changed - teaching primary school children about homosexual relationships

I have no idea what the content of the teachings are but if it stops prejudice and hate then it’s worth while

That said there is something about targeting this l age group that’s does not sit comfortably with me, maybe if it was being taught in senior school then I would feel differently

Is your God a nice middle class social worker?:lol:

So you only care about policies of State schools if you have kids at said school? I would object if a state school taught creationism as fact.
