I think there is a middle way - plenty of manager's have achieved more than Benitez has at Newcastle with less resources. Sunderland fans will play up the negatives but there is no doubt that Newcastle fans way over play this 'World Class Manager' stuff. He's done OK nowt better.

You honestly think so? He is in a win, win situation where he is at. He is on a massive salary purportedly and can do no wrong as far as the supporters are concerned. Why have the hassle? IMHO he is a dinosaur now and is settled where he is now managing an average side.

Clearly, you think he still is a top class manager who is happier managing a below average side for the love of the supporters and money is not a factor. You believe it if you want

I think he wants to manage relatively close to his family home and managing nufc fits that criteria. He is on big money but would be wherever he manages such is his level. If it was all about money hed be in China. If it was all about money he'd have already signed a new deal.
