The club in fairness have listened to what a lot of exiles and international supporters have wanted. A way to build their points for away games without having a season card. That if I’m correct was the main idea for it and is a good idea when implemented going forward for next season.
I’m not sure it was the right idea to use this membership scheme for play off final but had it been implemented much earlier on in the season it’s benefit would have been seen more, come the checkatrade. I understand people’s arguments as it’s also mine. Having not held a season card for coming up to 4 years, I was keen to secure mine at the time most were renewing so the membership would be pointless for me. Thanks to the kind members on this board I’m sure I’ll secure a couple. What I won’t do this time around is pay the 500 plus quid I paid for two tickets for the checkatrade. That was my choice of course and I could have kept the money back for this, but who knew?

It's pointless though as those points don't count for anything until you buy a season ticket. The whole thing was a money making scheme based on the hunger for Wembley. £40 for that membership is a rip off. They can dress it up an they want but it's clear as day.

I can't imagine there were more than a couple of hundred sold, at best.

Anyone no how you add another another member to your Ticketmaster account so you can get seats next to each other ?
Go to my account and then network. Or very similar

I'm not sure either. Will get mine in 1 and if I can get mates it's a bonus ...although I shouldn't have to.they should be entitled to get their own.

Everyone in phase 1 is guaranteed thus not many must have joined New membership which I suggest highlights that people didn't know about it.
It's pretty clear I think @blackcat83 ? One each in phase 1. Then six more in phase 2. Not easy to understand?

I hope I can select a seat on that crappy website easier than last time.

I remember for Charlton in 1998 (as a ST holder) queuing all day at the SOL (the day the Mags played Arsenal in the Cup final). The queues started round near the West Stand and looped all the way around to the East Stand and down to the ticket office. Took bloody hours

I was there on Saturday and this is my reward? f***ing joke that like, bunch of idiots running the show. St holders that couldn’t be arsed to attend the biggest game of the season help themselves though...f***ing shambles
Have a day off man.

Nobody seems to know if I can use my season ticket in phase 1 for myself, then buy additional in phase 2 for my mates?
I think a lot of us will buy this weekend then try again on Monday.

My nephew wants to go. A London kid who’s just discovered us. Will try again on Monday to get him one.

In reply to the text highlighted in blue "Following on from the success"? What they mean is due to the UK fans buying the International passes as a back door to the Checkatrade Final, we'll just open it up to everyone to jump the 'loyalty' queue and let's ignore those who don't commit to season tickets but go to home and away matches and have purchase history as they're not as loyal ;)

I'm all for the membership but even the last bit is a bit of a piss take. I suppose someone in the club thinks it's better to make money out of the fans knowing fine well there was a chance we'd get to Wembley again.

“The UK membership will give those fans a chance to show their loyalty, while also being recognised as passionate supporters.”

I agree completely, at the end of the day they are businessmen who spotted an opportunity to make some extra cash. That's what businessmen do. No one was forced to buy into the membership scheme but those who did are now guaranteed a ticket for Wembley. It was obvious from the start they were cashing in knowing people were panicking about getting Wembley tickets and they knew there was a canny good chance of us going back again this season so launched this membership scheme. It's not exactly fair but people chose whether to sign up to it or not.

Did the club ever say how many UK and international members we have ?

When they started it, they put the names in the programe. There was half a page at home games but was repeated a lot of times. Can't see there been more than a couple of hundred (who paid and joined) there'd be thousands of us Worldwide with no inclination to join or wanting to travel back home for a game.

Exactly. What way is there available to get a ticket for my lass? She insists I go even if she can't but it would be so much better if she was with me. She has always wanted to see a game there.
She supports Man Utd. Why would you deprive a proper Sunderland fan of a ticket, taking someone who just wants to go to Wembley. I’m sorry but there will be many many deserving of a ticket before her

can't see how anyone can have a go at the club. they've got nearly 40,000 tickets to shift in a matter of days and this is the only way they'll get close to it

I do feel a bit for non season card holders who go on a match by match basis but at the same time, I don’t know why those people wouldn’t want to take out a membership anyway when it was said from the start it would help with priority for cup finals, awaydays etc after season card holders are looked after. Is a bit odd mind this time how memberships are lumped in with season card holders, the first phase should be for season card holders only.

That said with the allocation and amount of people who said they can’t afford to go again I think anyone who wants a ticket will be able to get one.
Point being is someone who doesn't go to matches pays £40 and they're sorted. Don't even have to go to a match so therefore the club is asking those who do spend money to spend more just to be on the same level as someone who doesn't go to any matches.

Even the lumping in of memberships into both phases means that in phase 2 the glory seekers could buy 6 tickets and it sells out and ST holders miss out for their mates and family.

You don't need any points or have attended a single match though. You just need the £40 membership so non SC holders/away attenders are looked at no differently with this setup and they've ignored purchase history completely.

It's simply the club cashing in on the fans for me without actually looking at loyalty in a little more detail. Season ticket holders get into the first phase of anything of course but they shouldn't ignore the purchase history of home attenders and also allow exiles/away fans to build up loyalty and then have the members 3rd in the list of priority at the most.

I'll be coming to the Final, no ticket or bother trying to get one through a website. I'll buy one on the day as usual ;);) ... or get one from a friend of a friend
